I have had ther worst freaking day-Have you ever been soooo annoyed by the one you love the most that you can't take his voice -you need a break from it for a few hours but if it comes back in the same annoying pattern you wanna scream and hit something????
Um...in a word...YES!
I did go to the doctor. I had fallen asleep and didn't wake up until around 11 so it would have been nearly impossible to get walk-in at the office, so I went to the ER. They have like a dual ER - trauma and "fast-track" (like a clinic...but it's not that fast). From the time I got there to when I left it was about 4.5 hours; which is probably less than the clinic would have been - one time I went at 8am walk-in to the clinic and they left for lunch and I wasn't seen until the afternoon.
I do have a slight fever; just over 100. I'm usually around 96 so this is pretty high for me. It's not swine flu (I didn't think it was) but it may be regular flu (but they didn't test for it because it's so unreliable it's pointless.) They did do a chest x-ray to rule out pneumonia; it's likely bronchitis. They did give me antibiotics and sudafed...he said I could take sudafed.
And he doesn't want me going back to work until Friday. I got a doctor's note for that.Another thing is they said it may be environmental, but until there is a change in environment they cannot say for sure.
and our clients complain about waiting 20 minutes.

I am not feeling well. we had the cat in the house last night ( the one that has adopted us)and Jeff decided this thing needed to be spayed. so he brought it to the SPCA..well they called after it was under anesthesia and said "uh, it has already been spayed..."
whatever...so they cut a part of it's ear or something that should indicate it. then the cat had to hang out this afternoon cause it was still groggy.
Yes, they need to be spayed, or else come spring there will lots and lots and lots more of them!

Okay...its my turn to vent about my DH...man he made me so angry this morning. He bought a new carpet cleaner about 2 months ago at my request so we can clean our carpet...well i have been super crazy busy and have not gotten around to doing it. Well this morning I asked him if he could please do it and he responds "NO, you asked for it, so you do it." WTH. I went straight off....I told him well WTH, what else are you doing besides laying around all day." No he's not just doing that but I was angry. Dang it would not take long for him to do this. I know he is a bit depressed for not finding a job, he cleans and washes clothes but.....am i being over reactive here.
Been there. Done that. Got the tee-shirt. But actually Tony weeded the garden, cut the grass and ALMOST finished cleaning the kitchen over the past two days. Of course he didn't change litter boxes, FINISH cleaning the kitchen, edge or weed eat the grass or plant the clippings along the back fence, but I guess I'll take what I can get.
You know what makes me feel better about this whole move. A plus to being a member of an online community??? The fact that you all will still be RIGHT HERE. And you will make me feel at home.
Thank you ahead of time!
Lori
I'm not going anywhere. Once a New Orleanian, always a New Orleanian.
So I've had a fairly miserable past two days. Wednesday started well enough. But then an emergency came in. WARNING: THIS PART MIGHT GROSS YOU OUT. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED. Highlight this if you really want to know: The cat rushed in was rolled over by a car. His skin from midback down to his tail and down his side and over his left leg had all been ripped back. We had to try to decontaminate the inside of the skin and the exposed tissue and muscle before we could stretch it back over him and stitch it back into place. Very tedious to begin with but complicated by gravel and hair. Hey, I warned you. We finished surgery on the emergency at 10:30pm. THEN we went to one of our long-term client's house to put his cat to sleep

This morning I'm working by myself, though I'm supposed to have an assistant. Then another emergency came in. Acute kidney failure; more IV fluids (this makes 3 patients on IVs for today - think intense nursing required). Add to it a pounding headache (6 advil before noon) and hardly any sleep, 3 critical patients, a highly contagious kitten in the isolation ward and a full schedule of appointments. To top it all off, our late night surgery from yesterday had started to smell. We went to change his bandages at the end of the day and find (time to highlight again) gangrene. All the skin we worked so long to save was dying anyway. all our efforts were for naught.

Don't get me wrong. I love my job, and there are some wonderful moments, but some days I wonder if I've done anyone any good.
