Do the parks have metal detectors you walk through before entering the parks?

Metal detectors may be a part of everyday life in our more security-conscious lifestyle these days, but they do add time to airport boardings, courthouse entrances, etc. I see nothing wrong with asking about this to make sure she can plan her days efficiently. I guarantee if there were metal detectors at the entrances it would take twice as long to get through security as it does now with the hand checks of bags.
Also keep in mind that what the OP and others have talked about here is quite probably not the entire security policy Disney employs. The fact is that we have no idea what other measures they are employing on a macro scale away from guest view, and Disney certainly is not going to make that public. In my line of work, I've seen some pretty impressive security equipment demonstrated that is a)small b) unobtrusive to customers/guests c) can be effectively hidden and d) can detect a far greater range of threats than just metal objects. I have no inside info on what Disney has or doesn't have, but I do have some insight as to some of the equipment that is available to companies like Disney. I'm pretty comfortable when I enter Disney property, as I'm pretty confident there's far more to their security than meets the eye with their bag checks at the entrances.
I ask because I am curious and wanted to know.wdwrich said:Just curious- Why do you ask this question? What are you planning to bring in?

my husband has been to Iraq twice (he is in the Army) and while in Iraq the 2nd time, he was injured and has a metal plate in his neck. That's why.

I am planning on bringing my DH who has a metal plate in his neck and my 5 children. I don't appreciate you questioning me like I am a terrorist or something.![]()
weirdpaintballr said:Just wondering, wouldn't you prefer that people ask questions....What if a simple question could prevent a massive terrorist attack? Please don't get angry when a question makes some people a little uneasy....better safe than sorry![]()

I'll bet after his return from the big litter box he saw a lot of things from a whole different perspective than before he went. I know my Marine nephew did.
