Meryll83's SBP/Citrico's/Morocco PJ - Update: Trip Report now underway!!

Just a note on Heidi, We had her as our coordinator. She was fine with us. She was receptive to our questions, and was very patient with our site visit. We had our 16 month old tagging along with us- as well as a car seat and stroller she was very accomidating.

Good luck with everything!

Haha!

After extensive(ish) research, Julie and I have come up with a plan for the hen do!

We will have an optional late lunch first, then we will all meet at the Polynesian, resort hopping along the monorail sampling each of the bars along the way. When we reach the Contemporary and complete the obligatory drink there, we will embark on a Grand Gatherings Magical Fireworks Voyage and follow that up with a spot of Adventurers Club action (possibly meeting up with the boys at this point if they have survived "drinking round the world at Epcot", and depending on tired/drunkeness may do some of the other Pleasure Island venues.

Hurray, I may finally have decided on something!!!
(I shouldn't speak too soon or something will crop up that interferes with these plans!)

We think we'll tell the other girls the majority of the plan, but not mention the pirate themed cruise (just casually say "then we'll watch the fireworks at the seven seas lagoon"), we think it will be a fun surprise!

Hurray, finally I have something confirmed!! :woohoo:

We have got a secret porthole stateroom on the 3 night Bahamian cruise with $75 shipboard credit to spend! :sail:
First time cruising as well - sooooo excited!!!

This is making things seem more real now, some days I was worrying that things were never going to happen and I'd end up having to get married somewhere at home, which really isn't my dream.
Woohoo, we're going back to WDW!!

Ok,
I have returned to my apparently somewhat abandoned PJ - was it something I said?:confused3 :rotfl: Just kidding, I know everyone is mega busy at this time of year so I won't feel too neglected!!

Well the latest news is I have now asked 2 more friends to be bridesmaids bringing the grand total to 4. :bride:
To be honest I think I had always kinda envisaged (sp?!) a small clutch of us rather than just 2 bridesmaids and myself, but I think I had concerns over cost and also if anyone would really want to come all that way.
The girls are technically Si's friends I suppose, or at least they started that way, girlfriends of 2 of his closest friends he plays football with. We often refer to ourselves as "footballers wives" and do things on our own without the lads, so have become good friends over the last few years.
They are both into Disney and have been fairly recently and both couples were among those that pretty much agreed immediately that they wanted to come to the wedding, so I've been thinking for a while that they would be ideal candidates!
I wouldn't expect them to ask me if they were getting married as I know they have other, closer friends, but for me personally, I can't think of anyone better suited to the job (except my original 2 of course!!)
I'll try and find a couple of piccies of them to post later, their names are Jackie and Gemma, to add to Julie and Jodie (names starting with the 'juh' sound are obviously a winner in my book!:rotfl:
Gemma's parents are starting to visit WDW every year now, so they may try and plan their 09 trip to coincide with the wedding, and Gemma's sister is hoping she may be working on the WDW International Program by then, if not, hopefully she will come too. Both girls' partners will also be coming, obviously as direct friends of Si and myself too. I don't think Si has really given much thought over whether he needs groomsmen or not, he just seems to be sticking with his bro as best man for now.

Can't remember if I posted this before, but January the 6th we are taking both sets of parents for dinner to have the "finance talk". eek, wish us luck, hoping that we can agree on a sensible budget! Still need to convince the mother to get on that darn plane! Incidentally, I daren't tell her about the hen night plans as she gets motion sickness, inc sea sickness. Now I know that a boat ride on the Seven Seas Lagoon is hardly navigate the choppy seas, but if I tell he she needs to get on a plane to then get on a boat, I think I'll lose her completely!!:lmao: If we can get her there to start with then we're on a roll, we'll just keep the hen plans a surprise!

I probably won't be around much over the next few weeks as it's the last week of panto rehearsals this week, panto starts Boxing Day (26th December) and runs through until the 5th Jan, sometimes with 2 shows per day, so I'm gonna be a bit pooped.
So just in case I don't get back,

:santa: Have a fab Christmas everyone!:santa:

PS - I'm still trying to get hold of a template for a small info pack / initial RSVP to send to people in the new year to get a better idea of who is really interested and who's not so - if anyone can help so I don't have to start from scratch it would be huuuuuuuuugely appreciated! x

Hope everyone had a great Christmas and that Santa was good to you all!

Panto is going well, I'm working the evil step mother the best I can!! 4 shows down, 10 to go....

So, back to business, I was reading through my list of Officiants to choose from that Disney sent me - I don't have a clue where to begin!!

Can anyone make a recommendation??

Also, am I right in thinking that they are to be paid separately and not through Disney?

hello
i used rev kevin and i loved him.
so friendly and woundeful to work with. we have mixed religions and the whole family said it was the best ceremony they had seen. he is such a warm face. i would definalty recomend him

I also booked Rev. Kevin Knox based on a lot of good reviews on this board. I haven't had my wedding yet, but so far he has been great and extremely helpful.

We are deciding on Rev Kevin and Rev Jack Day. To sunshine, we also have mixed religions and do not want a very religious ceremony. I would love to get some info on your ceremony and how it was performed. MY DF wants someone with a good sense of humor that can make everyone feel comfortable and really enjoy the ceremony. Can you please give me a little more info on Rev Kevin?

Thanks,
Linda

We aren't really religious at all so these sound like good suggestions. Are they a bit humourous as well? We'd quite like a little bit of laughter!

Has anyone got/seen any videos that have aided them with this decision? Just wondering how you all made your choices?

sure i would be happy to.
the sensce of humor and ease of the ceremony was a must for us also.
he had three ceremonies to choose from one all religion onein the middle and one with no mention of god in it.
you can also mix and match any parts of all three ceremonies. you can also choose whoch vows of intent, vows for rings and other choices you want. well thats the technical part

now for the personal he has the character of a religiouse persona but the ease of a a freindly family member. hea also added some funny touches into the ceremony. and he pronounced us so cute. he is all smiles and so comfortable.
if you need any more info let me know

We used Rev Tim Herring and the ceremony was beautiful. Like you we didn't want anything too religious, but his words were lovely and he quoted an apache indian blessing which added to the ceremony. All our guests commented on how beautiful it had been. Rev Tim was really nice to deal with, and is a really nice guy.

ooooh it's so hard to choose!

We both have the rest of the week booked off work after today, so (even though I need to revise for my work exam next Tuesday - fingers crossed for me guys!) perhaps we'll get chance to sit down and have a proper look through all the info Disney have sent us rather than just stealing a quick glance at stuff as it arrives!
I might have to do a video search on each of the "Rev's" and see if I can "sample their work" as it were, and get a feel for the type of ceremonies they do.

Well, it's the last year of 2007, and although our 2009 wedding has been seeming a long way off, from tomorrow our wedding will be NEXT YEAR! :goodvibes Still seems a long way off to many I'm sure, and sometimes still to me, but once we're into 2008 it means we can get our flights/holidays from the UK booked and dates and locations sorted, still leaving plenty of time in 09 to sort out the finer details, but I do love my planning, I intend on being organised as early as possible at each stage. Oooh and we decided the hunt for dresses may commence in the next couple of months too :bride:
Simon also said he'd like to get the rings sorted in 08, oooh lots of exciting things to do!

So, in case I don't get to post later today:

Happy New Year! and here's to a great 2008!
oooh that rhymed :lmao:

PS. Fingers also crossed for Jan 6th, when we're having "The Budget Talk" with both sets of parents!

Its so funny you saying your wedding will be next year. We were saying that this time last year and tomorrow we will be able to say our wedding is this year. Time does fly!

I would say its not to soon to get your dress picked out. I found the dress I wanted in April 06 and I finally get to wear in on our wedding day in July :cool1:

I can use you as my justification now - "Well I know someone who had their dress picked out over 2 years before her wedding" :lmao:
I'm hoping to get things bought as and when time and money allows, and obviously this is one of the most important items so I want to start looking in what I call the miserable months (Jan/Feb time) when all the parties are over and the weather isn't very nice, to give me something to look forward to!

And people did say I was mad! But I thought it would take me a long time to find a dress that I really liked. But I find my one quite early on but it was quite expensive so I then had to find something cheaper that I felt the same in, this was impossible.

I ended up ordering the one I fell in love with at the national wedding show in the september and got a very good deal.

I can honestly say I haven't seen any other dresses that have made me doubt my style choice. The one thing that I am worried about is that I have ordered the correct colour, but I think I'm just worrying over nothing.

i too oredered my dress around 2 years out!! I still look but nothing comes up to the one i ordered!! I have it a my fmil house and I look at it every sunday!

I don't need to worry that the shopping is commencing too early then - good good!
How many dress shops etc did you guys visit before finding 'the one'?

I did 3 and then purchased it in another shop as its was £300 cheaper
