Meredith's been there a month....

....how do you think she's doing? I thought she was okay at first but the longer I watch her the less I like her.

She seems to be more nervous as the weeks go on. She makes a lot of mistakes, mispronoucing words and names. I also think they are trying to hard to appear as if they are all the best of friends. I didn't watch the Today Show when Matt first joined, so can't really compare. But I would think that the friendly repartee that he and Katie had took awhile. It's seems like they are trying to achieve that overnight and it isn't working.

Of course it will all depend on the ratings, and I don't know if they are higher since Meredith started. I do know that Katie's are falling, I hope they improve. I have watched Katie a few times and thought she did a good job, but I really don't watch the evening news, I usually have MSNBC on all day.

I still watch the Today Show, just not enjoying it as much.

Anyone else with an opinion?

I really like Meredith on other things - but I have a feeling Katie will be back soon (which may explain why meredith is even more nervous !?) - which will make me happy. Then Meredith can go back and maybe they will kick Rosie off and make viewer's of that show happy!!!!

I agree princesspiglet. I don't usually get to watch Meredith, but I saw her on Monday, and she just doesn't seem "right" to me. I have been watching the news with Katie, and I think they are relying on the other reporters more because Katie doesn't seem to have the seriousness needed for the evening news.

I hated Katie so I am happy to see Meridith. Katie might not be lasting too much longer on the nightly news but she will never come back to the Today show. That would be shameful. I wouldn't want her back anyway. I think Meridith is doing well. She still seems kind of nervous but that will go away soon. I know I've never seen Matt look happier! He hated working with narcisstic Katie and was thrilled to see her go!

I don't know. I watched her the first few days because I liked her on the View but I usually watch GMA. So I haven't seen her lately.

They could bring back Meredith on the View but I'm liking Rosie there too - much better than Star.

Well, I heard something completely different. With the low ratings on CBS, I heard that they were going to put Katie back on mornings, and since she can't break Meredith's contract they're putting her on the View. I also heard that Rosie has gotten so big on the View that she overshadows all the women there, and they were thinking of putting her on a spot at night, and that there is a likelihood she'll take over the CBS evening news.

Has anyone else heard this?

I've only gotten to see a few shows on days I work at home, but it does seem that Meredith is trying a little too hard. Matt and Katie seemed to have some kind of a sibling type relationship, he could tease her about things being all about her, she would tease him about being a germaphobe or whatever-and it all seemed to work. Meredith tries to tease with him but it doesn't have the same ring to it. It's more forced. Maybe it will get better over time.
I think the move to Nightly News was a HUGE mistake for Katie. I watched the first night, then went back to Brian Williams.

The other day when she was interviewing Tina Faye she asked a question and when she got the answer, she asked a dumb question:

MV: "Is you're daughter walking yet?"

TF: "yes, she is, all over the place"

MV: "does she spit up alot?"

TF: "no"

I'm sure TF didn't want to embarrass her, but from what I remember, when the babies start walking, they are past the spit up stage long before that Seems like she didn't think before she asked that question.

This job isn't for her I don't think...

I like Ann and Matt together too. They all seem to work so well together Al, Matt, Anne. Meredith seems too stiff for the group.

You're talking about completely different networks here...... The View is on ABC.

I think they should have given the spot to Ann Curie
I DO NOT like Meredith in that spot at all! i loved her on the VIEW and she just doesn't MESH well on the show.

I CANNOT stand Katie on the evening new! i was a huge Katie fan on TODAY and then blahh her hair is just AWFUL and the makeup people need help! she also just doesn't do SERIOUS very well.

I agree with the poster that said Meredith and Katie need to switch jobs!!
