Menu vs. buffet ?

I was looking at some of the character meals and noticed that there is a buffet price and a regular menu. This may sound silly, but it is very different than our experience at WDW. Are the characters available no matter how you order? In some cases it is a lot less expensive to order an entree than the buffet! Thanks!

Chcek out this site for menus at disneyland and hotels. www.dlresortinfo.com. The only character meal that is not a buffet is Ariels grotto which is a 3 course meal. The only character breakfasts that give you a choice of ordering off the menu is Storyteller's cafe in GCH and Lilo & Stitch brekafst in PPH. Character come to your table regardless if you order the buffet or off the menu. I don't believe they discriminate, at least we've never had an issue with it nor have we seen other tabels have issues with it. Dh and ds ordered the bufffet at Storyteller's while dd and I ordered off the menu. At PPH, we all ordered the buffet and the couple next to us ordered off the menu. Both tables were visited by the characters.

This is something I love about DL versus WDW. We went to the PCH grill Stitch breakfast twice and ordered off the menu both times (same at Storytellers). The characters treated us the same no matter what. It makes it a much less expensive character meal

Yes, always order off the menu! The treatment is the same and it is a much cheaper way to have a great experience! Living in Las Vegas (the land of buffets) I am baffled that people pay that much money for the buffets there. We oredered off the menu and my friend ordered the buffet once (at Storyteller's) and I did not think it was worth that much more $!

You would have to be really really hungry to justify their cost vs. the menu. I always get huge portions at Stroytellers that I can barely finish oredering from the menu and I can eat quite a bit! Hope this helps!
