I just received my credit card bill for dinner in Oct at CRT and was confused about the amount. I called ADR to question it since it didn't match what is posted on the menu I had seen online. She said I must have seen the menu from a third party because WDW doesn't print their prices. Which is why I'm paying more now. The price actually went up to $42.99 for an adult dinner. And of course, once all of the taxes and the 18% gratuity (which I didn't know was automatically added) were added on...I'm paying $52.34. So I just wanted to let everyone know not to assume the prices you see are correct. I was also surprised that they charged my account already. I thought it would be like a hotel ressie that wasn't charged until you used it. You'd think I'd never done this before!!!

The prices you see online are not "official" WDW prices unless you see an actual restaurant menu posted with a date and even then they aren't being posted by the WDW company. The prices online can be used as a close guesstimate but shouldn't be assumed to be 100% correct. There are a few restaurants, CRT being one of those, that will charge your credit card to hold the ressie but most don't even require a cc to make the ADR.

Unless you are using DDP, CRT is a pay in advance meal, and has been for several years - at least once they started having the characters at all the meals. The Hoop Dee Dee and Spirit of Aloha Luau are also paid at time of booking.

They added 18% gratuity? Something seems fishy to me, because CRT is one of the few meals where Gratuity is considered part of the price of the meal.

tricia - I remember hearing that grat was included too but the menu/description on this site and on Deb's don't mention that at all, like they do for HDDR and Luau.

I haven't been to CRT since it was King Stephen's so I have no idea about gratuity other than you don't have to pay one if you are on DDP.

Maybe grat is no longer included in the OOP price and the OP has 6 or more in her party? That's the only explanation I've got.

There's only 2 of us. She did say specifically that the grat was added on so I didn't have to worry about it when I got there. Thanks everyone for your input.
