Mentally Preparing: A Focker, A Croc & Waldo hit POFQ! Trip Report Link is UP!

THE BAD:
So, as previously noted, The Ducks have decided to do the 2 ressie thing, right?

WRONG!!!

Well, my TA was out of the office yesterday, so she didn't get my email until this morning. She called CRO and duh, duh, duhhhhhh POFQ is booked for Free Dining! Bwahahahaha!! :stir: All the drama and all the alcohol and they don't even get Free Dining!! :rotfl: Murphy's law I tell you!! I broke the news to the Ducks and they took it quite well. Very little swearing and a few laughs. Ce lest vie! Then we had an interesting conversation... remind me to mention it later......
THE GOOD:
In case any of you have missed SORUL82?'s photo tour of Epcot's Flower and Garden show thingy... run, don't walk to her thread. The pictures are amazing!! Anywho, I was perusing S'lates thread and The Enabler happened to walk in and she joined me as we oooohed and ahhhhed the wonderful photos. Then she did it. She made my dream come true. She asked me, "How about we make a trip to that flower show next year? Just you and me and the kids?" What, what, WHAT???? Am I dreaming?? Am I halucinating?? How much alcohol have I actually drank?? :faint: Well, I jumped on that like a hooker to a.... nevermind. Anyway, I'm all for it. In the middle of planning my nightmare... errr dream vacation, we actually started looking into the Flower and Garden Festival for next May (ish). I cannot believe she wants to go.:cool1: We've already decided that if we like POFQ, we'll stay there again or we'll go back to the Poly as we've decided we'd only go for 4 days and only visit MK and Epcot and the monorail access would be essential. I've already priced everything out and have a new happy dappy notebook/binder going for that trip. It's pink, though! ;)
Here's the kicker.... DH cannot know about this trip. :ssst: It's sneaky, I know, but we (more like he) agreed not to do WDW next year so we could have a HUGE vacation blow out for his 40th birthday. Yes, my friends, DH wants to celebrate HIS 40th birthday with a 4 day Disney Cruise and a 6 day WDW vacation! Tell me this guy has not turned to the green side.:lmao: Now, if only I could get him hooked on to DVC! :scratchin
Sorry, does this turn this into a pre-trippie within a pre-trippie? Am I channeling you, Lauralee? Speaking of LL.... where are you??? We seriously miss you!
Sorry, completely OT!!

THE LIME:
A funny thing happened today. Waldo returned from his day at the golf course with his old fart friends. And I do mean that with nothing but love. His friends remind me of those old guys from The Muppets. What were their names??? So anyway, Waldo calls me to the kitchen, and says "Look what I bought today from the pro-shop?" :hyper: I give him the :confused3 "New golf balls??" I say. Nope, he pulls out of his happy little bag a LIME green golf shirt!! How cool is that?? :woohoo: Yup, my old man is turning to limey right before my eyes!! Doesn't it bring a tear to your eye??:sad1:
He wouldn't pose for a picture, so I told The Enabler to get a picture of him in this weekend in Ojai.
Oh, and yes, Pjv... it is Ojai as in Brothers and Sisters. I love that show!! But, I love Calista... but I was a huge Ally McBeal fan!! :upsidedow

We viewed them last night! I can't wait!!! 31 days!!

YAh!!! We travel every May and October. May for F&G and October for F&W
Now, if only I could get him hooked on to DVC! :scratchin
I mapped it out on Excel showing how much money we already spent compounded with the inflation of resort prices to come and BAM! He sighned by the Palm Tree!

Whoo hooo would she like to adopt me???????

Would we have expected anything else and being pink DH will not expect it to be Disney stuff :thumbsup2

Wow you've sure done a good job on him!

Speaking of LL.... where are you??? We seriously miss you!
Me too, I went to see the hendersons today and the little boy Lewis so reminded me of Michael with his blonde hair and cheaky little face :)

His friends remind me of those old guys from The Muppets. What were their names???
Just googled for you and they're called Statler and Waldorf, after hotels apparently!

Nope, he pulls out of his happy little bag a LIME green golf shirt!! How cool is that?? :woohoo: Yup, my old man is turning to limey right before my eyes!! Doesn't it bring a tear to your eye??:sad1:
Well if you guys don't get spotted in all your lime there's no hope :rotfl2:

:woohoo:  :cool1: You are gonna LOVE WDW in May! Just-right temps, low(ish) crowds, and the F&G Fest? It's darned-near perfect!:thumbsup2
We've already decided that if we like POFQ, we'll stay there again or we'll go back to the Poly
Sorry, I had to stop here a minute.... ooooooo, the Poly.... you know how excited that name makes me! Okay, I'm back...

Ditto! Where aaaaare you????? :magnify:

Way to go Waldo!

POFQ is BOOKED!!!! Before it's even available to the general public??? Aren't you glad you didn't go messing with the ressies you already have? You are a wise woman.

And crafty...I'm loving that the Enabler suggested a trip next spring. :cool1:
S'late's photos have me filled with regret that we cancelled our trip for next week:sad2: But, I'll just have to go get myself a notebook and start planning for a big, LONG, trip for 2008.

I mapped it out on Excel showing how much money we already spent compounded with the inflation of resort prices to come and BAM! He sighned by the Palm Tree!
I tried to explain to him that the money we've spent on last years trip and this years trip would have practically paid off a 150 pt. DVC ownership. He's not biting. It's the airfare that kills the deal for us. We'd have to spend over $1200 for airfare every time. :sad2:

Whoo hooo would she like to adopt me???????
Trust me, the drama does not equal the benefits!:lmao:

Wow you've sure done a good job on him!
Grasshopper is learning! :thumbsup2:

Me too, I went to see the hendersons today and the little boy Lewis so reminded me of Michael with his blonde hair and cheaky little face :)
Uh, Jo, unless they changed the name in England.... it's the Robinsons. :ssst:

:woohoo:  :cool1: You are gonna LOVE WDW in May! Just-right temps, low(ish) crowds, and the F&G Fest? It's darned-near perfect!:thumbsup2
Whoo Hoo!! It'll be nice to go and not sweat from every oraface of your body! :lmao:

Um... won't he notice that ya'll are gone? :confused3 ;)
Well, I suppose. The point is, he cannot know we are planning it. :teacher: I'm just gonna spring it on him about a month before we go and just claim it a "spur of the moment trip" :stir:

I know that it's booked for the VISA card people. But I was told they released new rooms today. I told my TA not to worry about it, the Ducks have accepted their fate. :teeth:

And crafty...I'm loving that the Enabler suggested a trip next spring.

It was my Jedi mind powers. :yoda: Knowing what a huge FLOWER/PLANT freak she is, I knew she'd bite once she saw the pictures. :woohoo:
I'll have to send S'late a Thank You Note.

So, SharkB8, are you heading out to Dland for sure in August? What week, so I can stalk you.:rolleyes1

Uh, Jo, unless they changed the name in England.... it's the Robinsons. :ssst:
:rotfl2: I just came back here to edit that but you're too quick :rotfl2: Wasn't the Hendersons a program with a big hairy yeti? :rotfl2:

BTW missy have you not read S'late's and mine reply to a post you made on one of the TFW threads? Leaving us off your list of people you're meeting! :sad2: We've been scared for life :rotfl2: LY/MI

Oh my nickname as a kid was Fred :confused3 :rotfl:

Tracy,
Nothing is for sure right now... It was for sure yesterday, but it's all changed again as of this morning. Long story short, DH is supposed to go out there with his job and I was going to tag along with the kids. Now, they want him to go to DC instead of San Diego, but for all I know that will fall through and we will be in San Diego. It's a mess. But I'll keep you posted. I'd love the chance to visit with you, the kids and the Waldos.

OMG!! What??? I totally missed that. I fixed it though.... please see my explaination. It took me 4 threads before I found it!!

:confused3 You've got to explain that one! :lmao:

Oh, bummer! :guilty:
I hope things work out and y'all make it over here! Yes, I do agree it could be the curse of the ticker! ;)

Tracy: I have been a DIS lurker, but wanted to comment on your pre-trippie. You tell a great story! My family (9 of us) are going to WDW in July, and somehow I have been designated the "official trip planner", but no one wants to tell me what they want to do. That is until I make reservations for something, and then they all have an opinion. I am just happy to know that I am not the only one with this problem.

I did call you T, didn't I?? :lmao: Well, I figured we've got V, Jo, LL we need a "T" to kinda round out the alphabet, eh?
No one really calls me T. My family calls me Face, that's from when I was really little. I would say my name was Facey. So my bros just started calling me Face. Dumb, I know!
Thanks, I like it- makes me feel like I am talking to an old friend!;)
BTW I think "face"is cute not dumb.

Hey Tracy, thanks for the shout out! Hmmm, let's see, I spend $350 on a new camera and you get a bonus trip?

BTW, tell the Enabler that I'll post some more pics soonish.

I was Fred the bump :confused3 and it continued all through my childhood at least I wasn't Percy that was my DSis :rotfl2:
Fred the bump?? :rotfl2: Who called you that?
Tracy: I have been a DIS lurker, but wanted to comment on your pre-trippie. You tell a great story!
Awww, thanks for coming out of lurkdom, Momof2boyz! :welcome: to my nightmare.:goodvibes

Awwww, yes. If I may give you some advice.... :teacher: #1 keep everyone in mind when planning your park touring #2 You can't please everyone, not even most of the time, so be prepared to have a thick skin #3 Don't plan all your time together, togetherness is sooo overrated #4 Do plan a least one rest day, away from everyone else. Other than those top 4 bits, have fun planning, it's super fun, super stressful, but hopefully it pays off.

Now, if only I could follow my own advice!! :rotfl2:

Thanks, I like it- makes me feel like I am talking to an old friend!;)
;)

You didnt need to tell us about the binder---We KNOW there is a binder for sure!!!
:lmao: I buy them by the bundle from Staples. You never know when you've got planning to do! :rolleyes1

Hehehe!! Thanks, S'late. I owe you a Lapu! ;)
BTW, tell the Enabler that I'll post some more pics soonish.
Will do. I think your pictures are awesome! :woohoo: My favorite is the picture of Rabbit with the carrots, very cute! :goodvibes The Enabler was sold when she saw Minnies Butterfly Garden! :hippie:

Fred the bump?? :rotfl2: Who called you that?
My dad, every night he'd kiss my DSis and I and say "night boys" to which we'd reply "we're not boys we're girls", he still does that with my 2 DD's :rotfl2: He's a bit mad, S'Late would love him as he skips down the street too :rotfl:

:lmao: That's cute. My brother used to that to his boys, except he'd call them girls. That didn't go over too well! :rotfl:

JUST A BIT OF DISNEYLAND MAMA TRIVIA:

I cannot skip. Sad, I know, but I just can't do it. I wasn't born with that gene and watching Maddie try to skip, apparently she wasn't born with that gene either! :rotfl2: Have you ever seen the friends episode where Phoebe and Rachel go jogging and Phoebe runs all crazy looking with her legs swinging out and her arms flailing about? Well, that's me and Maddie! :goodvibes

You should take a video of that!!(you of course)LY,MI:hug:
Maddie will get the hang of it.DS4 is just got it a few months ago, and he is really coordinated. He has been ice skating for about 3 months and is soooo good. He puts me to shame and I have been doing it for most of my 33yrs!!!
I know that Friends episode and it cracks me up!!!

yea...popcorn::

She made my dream come true. She asked me, "How about we make a trip to that flower show next year? Just you and me and the kids?"

No WAY!:cloud9:

DH cannot know about this trip.

I won't tell...you little sneak you!

Yes, my friends, DH wants to celebrate HIS 40th birthday with a 4 day Disney Cruise and a 6 day WDW vacation! Tell me this guy has not turned to the green side.:lmao:

We were planning a similar thing for next winter...that is until the price when up $600 in 2 days...Yikes! Maybe...if I can swing a last minute deal or something...yea right huh...

Oh, and yes, Pjv... it is Ojai as in Brothers and Sisters. I love that show!! But, I love Calista... but I was a huge Ally McBeal fan!! :upsidedow
I love that show! Love AB too, but why did she have to pump up her lips so...?

So, now that I've got my trip days all settled, and my best park days in order, and most of my ADR's booked. What am I supposed to do now??? :confused3 I'm a little more than 4 months away. 4 months???? That's right around the corner. Yickes!!!:woohoo:

I've decided to plan my park touring schedule to my own beat. Andy and I went over all the attractions at all the parks, and with the help of TGM, we pretty much have our touring plans all in order. The Ducks also said that any Disneyland/DCA attraction that was exactly the same or better than the MK version, we skip. So, we've scratched out Soarin', Jungle Cruise, POTC, Buzz Lightyear, Astro Orbiter, and Space Mountain. This will save us alot of time as most of those are headliners. We've also scratched out most of the walk-thrus at MGM, as Dland and DCA have the same thing. So planning was pretty simple. I've got us at rope drop for every park at least once, with the exception of MGM. That park just didn't do it for me last year, except for ToT and RnR. I am looking forward to seeing more of the shows this year, like Mermaid, B&B and the boys are dying to see LMA and Indiana Jones.

In case the Ducks decide to tour on their own, I've created a spreadsheet for them with TGM's best park days and what time of day for each attraction. Other than that, they're on their own. Secretly, I'm hoping they go off on their own at least a few times for family time, but I think for the most part, they'll hang with us. Which is fine. :rolleyes1 I know for a fact, they're not interested in Little Ones Magic Hour @ MK, which is actually better for me. At least my kids can do all their rides first thing and then they can just be along for the ride for the rest of the morning. We did all agree to break bread at least once a day as a family. Growing up, my parents were pretty lenient, but they did insist on one thing... family dinner, every night. No matter what you were doing, who you were with, you were home at 6:30 for dinner. My brother has done the same with his famiy and so have I. No TV, no distractions, just conversation. :goodvibes With that, I think we've got a pretty good plan. See??? This is my famous TGM spreadsheet that is accessable if you belong to TGM. It's a trip planners best dream, I tell ya!

TGM002.jpg

Oh and here's a picture of Maddie, devouring her chocolate bunny! I had to post it because according to Maddie, "It's not fair that Evan's on youtube and she is not! ;)
TGM001.jpg

With the Waldo's in Ojai, the troops are restless, so I guess we'll go play outside for an hour before dinner. MORE LATER..... popcorn::
