You may recall I mentioned the offer/deal DH and I worked out after I was vetoed out of P&PP(Pirate and Princess Party), right? Well, it's time to spill the beans. Since I was very mad at DH for not wanting to go P&PP he made me a sweet deal. You see, we have never stayed at the Grand Californian Hotel here at
Disneyland. I've always wanted to stay, but DH is a stick in the mud and figures why should we pay for a hotel room when we live 15 minutes away? He agreed to book us a 2 night stay at the Grand Californian in either June or December, my choice. June being my birthday month,

and yes, I milk the whole month! And December being the prettiest time of the year at Disneyland. So there you have it, this offer sealed the deal.

Little does he know that I am also going to schedule us an appointment for DVC when we go.
I'm wondering about the Grand Californian DVC. Will the point system work the same for WDW properties? I know if you use your current WDW DVC points toward say any of the Disneyland hotels, they conversion is crazy. You're better off just booking a room with a code. Maybe I'm wrong?
Anyway, this whole "rumored" free dining really has us all in a tail spin.

When I did my FDM work up, I forgot that we would not get the
AAA discount on top of free dining. SO, I went back and did all the corrections only to find out our actual savings would be $2900 collectively. This would greatly reduce the Ducks cost by more that $1300 as Hewey and Dewey are considered "adults". Even after the airline change fee, they'd save over $900. Now that's getting FDM to work for you!

: Waldo and I would both save a little less that $500, net savings. Imagine all the carp I could buy with that!

We're waiting for official word until we officially change the dates. Now that's going to send me back to lover....errr TourGuideMike to get plan B, well planned. Our new dates would be 8/25 - 9/3. I totally forgot August has 31 days, not 30. We'd get home 2 days before school started. Not ideal, but worth it, I think. We would book a room only reservation for 8/25 through AAA. We didn't plan on touring any parks on our travel day anyway, so it works out. We would start our free dining package on 8/26. So, Plan B is in motion, just in case.

I'm really bummed, as I wanted to secretly FOCK Jo at Animal Kingdom on the 23rd.
Now, the secret I've been hiding is this..... Now this is breaking news, no one knows but you and you and you. You see, DH had set up a Voluntary Savings account last year with a Credit Union that offered free services to employees of his company. He made a decent bi-weekly contribution of $200. Well, you see, he forgot about it. So did I for that matter.

How that happened it beyond me. Anyway, I was going through all our banking accounts and found the quarterly statement. Well, low and behold, there it was. In black and white. A nice fat balance. Enough to pay for Plan A and then some. So, you see.... our Disney trip is as good as paid for. I jumped on the internet and requested a full payout transferred to our checking account. Uh oh... can't do that. They will send a paper check to our home. Darn it! He's going to find out.

How do I hide it? How do I get it into our account without his knowledge? Maybe I can get him to sign it when he's watching the Lakers lose again.

Well, I'll worry about it when it gets here. Which is in 10-15 days. I'm taking suggestions.... anyone? Anyone? Lauralee? V? Jo? S'late? Lisa?
So my phone rings this morning and guess who it is. No? Ok, well, it's my other DNeph, Walt.

You may remember him from my previous trip report? Anyway, he asks what our vacation dates are as he received a nice tax refund and would like to take a vacation this summer. With us. Great.

So I discuss the possibility with The Enabler, who is infact on complete bed rest from dumpster diving. Don't ask.

She says, Walt can stay in her and Waldos room as long as he pays his park ticket and plane ticket. I tell Walt, it's a go and I would run the figures for him today. Did the work up already, it's gonna cost him $760. Not bad for a 10 day WDW trip. He may get a better deal if he books himself w/ his CM discount. So our little party of 10 has turn into a party of 11. Do you know what this is going to do to all my ADR's? Do you think it will be a big deal? Most of my ADR's are booked for 2 tables. A party of 6 and a party of 4. Will it be that hard to add another chair? Anyone??? Anyway, back to Walt.... In case you didn't know, he works at DLand in the Bakery as a Barista or is it Baristo? He thanks me and then he gives me the greatest knowledge known to a Disney fan.

The address to the Disneyland outlet, which happens to be a hop, skip and a jump from my house. He suckered me in, I tell ya. He's got skills to work his Aunt, fo sho'!

So there you are.... you're all up to date with the secrets, the compromises and the offered not to be refused.

ETA: This is a photo of parental neglect. This poor child fell asleep because his mother was busy posting an installment and forgot his nap time. For shame!
