Men's Fashion - oxfords/loafers without socks?

Goin back to the preppy 80's....no. Just no. Didn't look good then, doesn't look good now. But neither do man buns so there's that.

Man buns are done at least. It's all short hairstyles now. At least the short ones can be made office appropriate easily!

Man, some of the stuff that is considered office appropriate today.... I guess I'm just that old guy now, but I don't like a lot of it.

Hey - Goldman got rid of suits this week (or last), so anything goes. My ex wore a man bun in like 2013-2014 for some period to his very corporate job. It wasn't an issue. I think it's nice that so many of the popular hairstyles for men these days are more versatile. I have long hair and ergo, about a thousand things I could do with it (if I had any talent for such, and I absolutely do not and I'm not watching tutorials for hours either). Lots of men styles are limiting. I like that guys can now have at least 2 distinct looks, edgy for not at work, or Don Draper at work.

I love watching men's fashion right now, so many more styles are popular all at once.

uh, hello mcfly, this is the 21st century. No dudes wear shoes without socks anymore

No. I do not wear flip flops at all. :tilt:

Brian - why not? I converted my DH this summer, as he does not do well in the heat and apparently thought all flip flops were foam pieces of crap. I learned him real good.

I just hate flip-flops. I like my shoes tied tightly, and don't want them flopping around. I will not wear sandals, with the exception of cleaning the pool (or if I was actually at a beach or lake which I rarely am), end even then they must be the kind that strap on fully. No flip-flops - ever.

Fair enough. I'm the opposite, full shoes just seem like they're keeping my feet down! *said in my best protest voice*

If you’re going for that look, you wear special socks that just cover your foot, so they can’t be seen. But, no I haven’t tried it yet although I do have the socks for it.

This is all my Step FIL wears, apparently it was the cool thing in his fraternity when he was in college and he has never looked back. I think it looks fine, but OMG do his feet stink!

I'm was thinking of the modern take, but was wondering what a general audience thought. Funny that your FIL rocks it.

@DisneyGuy - do it soon and report:) and yes, of course, the no-show socks.

DS wears them without socks occasionally but I'm assuming it's because he's out of clean laundry...:rolleyes1 He's also not remotely interested in my opinion of his look so I just avert my eyes and go on about my day. DH is a fancy sock guy and he has dozens of pairs; no two the same colour or pattern. He hasn't got the patience to match them so he just buys new ones all the time. There are at least 2 baskets of his socks waiting for somebody to take an hour or two to pair them up.

My DH is the exact same about socks, down to buying new ones and letting them build in the ever growing sock drawer. I mean, he'll probably go sockless just to not match them.
