What completely useless items have you gotten in your stocking? Things you would rather not have or were just plain insulting? Really funny things?

Please use the subject line to state your gender.

Fruit- I understand if this is a tradition or something.

Generic Lotions-:confused3 I want the good stuff :snooty:

A Cheap Keyfinder that does not work.

Generic Chocolate- see lotions above.

Little Dolls attached to Candy- I just want the candy. I'm too old for little dolls so now I have more clutter or more garbage- either way, keep the doll, gimme the candy.

I haven't gotten anything in my stocking that was useless or in poor taste because hubby always fills my stocking. I have gotten some presents under the tree that were "re-gifted", lol. I mean, come on, what use would I have for a musical dancing Santa & Mrs Claus? Or a book about holiday entertaining in one's home? Our 4 bedroom home is so tiny, it's barely big enough for the 6 of us.

I'm the mom so my stocking is always empty....:sad2: Actually I usually buy myself coal chewing gum and stick it in my stocking and just say I must have been a bad girl. :rotfl2:

Nothing! I always love whatever is in my stocking because I "help" Santa pick the items! Ha Ha Ha :thumbsup2 :santa:

Like a past poster. I am a mom and my stocking is always empty. My kids feel bad that Santa forgot me so they usually draw me some pictures and 'sneak' it into my stocking. I would love useless items in my stocking at least they took time out to get it.

Mine would be empty if I didn't fill it. And DH doesn't take the hint when I fill his will all sorts of goodies.

Useless gifts that I've received? MIL used to always give me plain white socks and a package of ugly underwear. If you're going to give me socks and undies, at least make them cute and the kind I'd wear.

One thing to check before putting any item into a stocking (or even wrapping) is to make sure it won't LEAK! It wasn't my stocking, but a friend received a bottle of bath gel that leaked on her candies and everything else because it was upside down.

I'm answering for DH because he always gets alot of crap in his stocking from his parents

-Stress ball
-Little travel games/brainteasers with wooden pegs
-Pencils

Wow- so many of you with no stockings!:sad1: We need to start a support group.

I guess I should just consider myself lucky that at 34 I still get one and it is pretty good and I do not have to buy/ pick anything for it myself, DBF does it and he really does put thought into it.

One year, DH filled my stocking with a bag of Dove Milk Chocolate squares. Blech! And that was all he put in there! The next year, I gave him some ideas for things that would be good in a stocking and he's done a great job ever since.

I usually fill his stocking with lots of different dark chocolate bars - he likes to try different ones...and will put in something like a new pen (he likes new pens), as well.

 First year I was with DBF my stocking was almost all candy. I could tell he felt bad when his was loaded with cool stuff and a little bit of candy. Every year since then my stocking has been excellent.

My MIL likes to buy me clothes and undies that are about 10 sizes (not kidding) too big. This one shirt looked like it was out of a sitcom. It had cats and a Christmas tree a and big bells that jingled. It looked like my whole family and a few orphans could have called it home. When I thanked her she said that if it is too small she can get me a larger size....did I forget to mention that this woman hates me?

You should have suggested she get you a larger size. It would be so worth making her return it.:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I don't think I've ever gotten anything in my stocking that I didn't like. My Dh fills mine for me and I do his so he usually puts alot of thought into it. The kids were disappointed that we didn't get anything in our stockings so they also help me choose things for Dh, it's fun for us.

Female: Lottery Tickets-- its just stupid. For that $10 could have gone to something better or more interesting than pieces of cardboard that you may not even win anything.

Nothing sexual==remember these stockings are opened in front of family

I don't need razors, deoderant and stuff either... nothing says Merry Christmas like a Bic razor!

AAA membership-- thats not a gifty item.

we left my older brother (mind you he’s 30) in charge of stocking last year (never again)

ended up with travel sized everything
from deodorant to shampoo
he even gave everyone a tongue scraper (now that is just icky)

I like my AAA membership...my parents renew it for me for xmas every year (Its the gift that gives year round when you really need it). I saw that I'm a 10 year member this year so you know what I've gotten for xmas the last 10 years.

as for my gifts that I could do without.... DH's grandparents always get me a nightgown type thing and panties (grannypanties) that I end up never wearing. I prefer to pick my own underwear. Cheap lotion, candy, perfume...that type of thing also.

My mom likes to get us things like new towels and household type things that while not always exciting, are practical and get used. (hey, its less that I have to buy on down the road)
