OK, another question....
How long do I need to wait before I but Memory Maker? Our vacation is in October. Can I get it now and link it to our Disney Experience, or should I wait until the week before we go?
Yes, it just has to be at least 3 days. (Any pictures taken within 3 days won't be included.)
DO YOU KNOW IF THIS IS "BUSINESS DAYS" M THRU F? OR, JUST 3 DAYS PERIOD? I AM ON THE FENCE STILL AND WE LEAVE ON SUNDAY, WILL NOT BE IN THE PARKS TILL MONDAY. I HAVE NOT HAD THE GREATEST DISNEY PHOTOGRAPHER PHOTOS, TO BE HONEST. I DO LIKE TO USE THEM FOR MORE DIFFICULT SHOTS/CASTLE SHOT, ETC. THEIR PHOTOGRAPHERS CAN ACTUALLY GET ON MY NERVES, TO BE QUITE FRANK, MAYBE BECAUSE I USE MY OWN CAMERA TOO. I USUALLY DO BOTH, JUST TO HAVE BACKUP. NOT IMPRESSED ENOUGH OVER THE LAST 2 YEARS TO HAVE PURCHASED ANYTHING FROM THEM ONCE I GOT HOME.Yes, it just has to be at least 3 days. (Any pictures taken within 3 days won't be included.)
I am addicted for sure. Have a now 13 year old. We took her when she was 5 and I have tried to get back every year since. I actually do not mind standing in ride lines/gives time to talk with my daughter and anticipate the ride. I know, that is crazy! I have grown daughters too. We used to drive to FL fr TX in the summer. Now that was nuts! I regret not taking them more often. I think it is a great escape from reality and we can all use that. I enjoy fastpass, but do not enjoy the planning and keeping an eye on the time, once in the park. We now go during spring break and we fly, not drive anymore....also we stay on Disney property, which I did not used to be able to. Counting down......only 4 more days!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Trying to decide about Memory Maker. As much as I love Disney, I think they they just come up with more ways to get our money!!!!Definitely! I had 900 photos!

To piggyback here, is there anything we need to do to activate MM, or do we just get our picture taken and since it's already linked to my MDE the pics will appear?
Sorry everyone for the typing in caps. I have to admit that I have been tempted to buy the ride photos in the past. I finally broke down and got one on Splash Mountain once. Does everyone know that you can use your own camera w/o flash and get a pretty good shot of the ride photo that is posted on the tv screens as you exit the rides. Not sure if that has changed. Sorry, I guess I am old school and cheap! They actually come out pretty clearly. If you like to purchase pictures on your vacation, then it probably will be worth it. DH loves to buy photos on trips, so this is right up his alley.

Sorry I am new to forum and for the life of me cannot figure out how to just post, w/o being on the tail end of someone, but here goes...I did not by memory maker and I am glad I did not. We have not looked at all our photopass shots yet, but there were a lot of them with the kids eyes closed, etc. The worst, which I will call Disney about, is the gir's hands are extended for Tinkerbell placement in a front of the castle shot. They took two shots with the girl's hands out. One, which did not turn out well at all, the friend is looking off....and then a really cute one with all smiles and empty hands, no Tink. I am going to call and see if they cannot fix that one. Our Snow White shots are lots taken during the autograph book signing process and only one when everyone is actually posed. Now I know what some of you are thinking, natural shots and all that. But you don't want the ones where the kid's back of the heads are facing you in the shot. So far, not super impressed w/the shots from the Disney photographers and glad I did not purchase the whole thing in advance. That is really all memory maker is/photopass purchased in advance. The one good thing that came of it is a shot of us on Splash Mountain, but I think we have a comparable one taken of the shot after the ride with my camera. I advise everyone to take shots with your camera as back up. Again, I am happy to not have paid Disney the sum of $169 in advance. Possibly will by a couple of shots from them. Frankly, I am always a little relieved that their shots are not so good, making it easier for me to pass. If I was made of money I would buy all the photos....oh, there was a video of us on Mine Train. Fun to watch, but will not purchase.Okay another question can I wait until about a week before we go to purchase the MM at the $169.00 price and have it linked to MDE? (With all the costs adding up hoping to put it off)

1. No, your Magic Band will be detected by a sensor where the picture is taken and the picture will automatically be added to your account.
The rides will automatically detect and aquire your photos via your magic band. Make sure your My memory maker is linked to your MDE and make sure all traveling with you are linked to your account. Memory maker will detect thier bands and capture thier photos / videos even if you are not with them on the ride. Log into MyDisneyPhotopass site with same info used in MDE to view your photos. Check this often to make sure all photos are captured. Sometimes the automatic process isn't so automatic. If you have photos that do not show up in your account, go to or call Disney Photo Pass services they are pretty good about finding photos.
