Memory Maker WITHOUT a Magic Band?

I've always stayed on Disney property and so I automatically get the Magic Bands and know all the features it offers.

But now I'm helping a family member plan their own trip to Disney later this spring. Unfortunately they are staying off property and only spending 2 days at WDW. I'm finding that planning for this type of trip is completely different than our typical 9 day trip staying on property. I am getting so scared for them. Not only are they only going for 2 days, but they are going during spring break and don't want to make any ADR's in advance. I've atleast convinced them that they need to buy their park tickets in advance and pre-book some FP+ 30 days out. But that means they have to decide what park to go to now. Obviously they are new to WDW and even though I've tried to explain things, they just are getting the sense of urgency in pre-planning a few things... especially during Spring Break!

They did pre-order the Memory Maker, which honestly that was one thing I told them I wasn't sure it was worth the cost for just two days. Since they aren't staying on property, they aren't getting Magic Bands. I know they can buy the Magic Band once they are there, so I'm trying to find out what all they would be missing out on in the Memory Maker package if they DIDN'T get a magic band. One thing for sure would be the new ride videos, correct? And how many of the ride photos are only sent to the magic bands automatically and not available to add manually in the ride gift shop? Is there anything else that I'm missing? How important is that at least one person in their travel party has a Magic Band? And of course that person must be riding the rides.

TIA

They do not need to have MagicBands to use MM.

Concerning the on-ride videos, from what I can gather, guests can scan their plastic tickets under their regular ride photos at the ride exit to be "connected" to their ride video.

Robo... how about on Seven Dwarfs? I don't believe there is a place to scan for photos or video.

Without a band, they will not gave access to a 7 dwarfs still shot or video - they do not have a photo station at that ride.

There ya go.

That'll be $12.95, plus tax, for a MagicBand, please. ;)
