Hi Any memory maker experts out there?
I bought the package for my family who will be in town. I have their ticket numbers linked to my Disney Experience account. Will they be able to scan their cards allowing me to see their photos digitally as well?
Better way to say it? could we be in two spots in the park and link to the same account? How do I ensure they are linked to this me on the memory maker?

thank you!

If you get seperate cards you can enter both into your account meaning that you can see all photos. You can get as many cards as you like and link them in. I always take photos of any cards I get (I got a few on our last trip despite having a magic band as sometimes they would not scan ) so you have the seriel number just in case you lose a card.

Thank you Dancing.. i assume the cards you are referring to are given to you after you take your initial photos and then you scan that every time? does your magic band replace the card if you have one ?

Yes so if you walk up to a photopass photographer you can get photos and they will hand you a plastic card with a barcode number on it. You can keep using the same card as many times as you like and other people in your group can get seperate cards as they wish. My magic band was linked to my account and so the photopass photographer just scanned that everytime he took a photo. I then had to link my account to those of other people in my party to see their photos too. I could add additional cards as well and then right at the end when I was home I downloaded the whole lot.

Yes they can and if you get multiple cards I recommend taking a photo of the code on the back. In the event that the card is lost you'll still be able to retrieve the photos. We did this with a large family reunion and got LOTS of pictures

I'm assuming if I purchase the memory maker, then I have to be present to get pictures taken. Can others on my reservatin, staying in my room, have pictures taken without me?

Have another question! If some of your family are in another room, we are a large family, will they have to purchase their own memory maker?

You do not have to be with them for their pictures to be captured. As long as you are all linked in MDE, anyone in the group can be in different parks, different rides, different photographers and you'll still capture everyone's photos as long as the photographer scans their band, or gives them a card, or scans a card they already have.

Have another question! If some of your family are in another room, we are a large family, will they have to purchase their own memory maker?

No - you can all share one! This is easily one of the best cases for getting MM. If you buy the MM, you are the "owner". As long as all of your family members are listed in MDE and you are linked (I.e. They show up on your Family and Friends list) AND the status next to their name shows "Jane can view and purchase your photos" or "you manage this account" (that's what you'd see for kids or adults traveling who don't have their own MDE account) then all your pictures will show up and will be downloadable under one MM purchase.

However, everyone in your family will be able to see the photos when they log in to their own MDE, but only you as the MM owner can perform the download. You would need to either share your login with family members so they can edit and download their own pictutres, or get together to perform edits and downloads under your account, or you can do any edits (like adding borders and stickers) and download all the photos and give them to the family on a CD or flash drive.

Thank you for all your helpful information about the memory maker! Definitely will be a great add on for my family of 16! Trying my hardest to capture the moments!

I purchased Memory Maker about a week ago, today I received a card in the mail which says:

"Show this Memory Maker card to Disney Photopass Service Photographers or at select Dining and Attraction Locations"

You should also receive a card with your Memory Maker order and you will be able to use that. So "No" you do not NEED a Magic Band. Having Memory Maker linked to your Magic Bands would just be a convenience.

If it doesn't say that next to the names, how do you go about updating it? My mom bought the MM, she added it to my MDE, and made me the owner or in charge of it. My wife and DD are on my MDE, and my mom and dad are on their own. We are linked, and they show up under family and friends.

It says I manage my wifes acct, my dads, my daughters, and it says my mom has her own. For my wife, dad, DD, it says nothing about photos next to it. Only says "Connect through a Disney Account".

My mom's says "Terry can view your shared plans. Terry can view and purchase your PhotoPass photos"

So is that all set up, or do I need to do something else so they can just scan their MB and have the pics go to this MM account?

Actually, I just read the rest of the quote. You answered my question already :)

Thanks for the info. I purchased MM online last week but haven't received anything in the mail yet.

Be careful you don't throw it out, the card looked like it was junk mail. It came in a plain envelope from a PO Box in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. Hopefully, you will receive your card soon.

OK, now the magic bands still work for this right? I keep seeing everyone stating using this card. I'm actually looking forward to not having to dig around for a card.

I have the same question. Although I have Magic Bands and the MM Card, my trip isn't until May, so I figure I'm cover either way but it would be nice if I/we could just use the MB (and I and fairly sure that is the case). Of course, MM and MBs both have to be linked to MDE account.

From what I could gather from this thread and other MM threads, you can scan either (as long as they are linked) with Photographers and at the photo sale point of the attractions. I have read that in some cases at the attractions, your pictures are automatically captured and put into your photo account but being paranoid I will probably be scanning my MB just to make sure.

Question about ride videos: If you don't have a Magic Band, are you given a card so you can add it to your Memory Maker account? Thanks!

The ONLY way to get the ride videos is with a magic band. I know this is absolutely a fact for Mine Train since Mine Train has no photo booth (as of October and I saw no signs of a booth being added). You can not get a photo number, a card, a video, nothing for Mine Train unless you have a band.

For the other rides with video (Tower of Terror; can't think of others with video but they may be adding) you can definitely get a picture without a band. I'm not 100% sure but let's put it at 95% sure that the video is only with the band.

I believe you need this special card or a linked Magic Band to get ride photos. The free cards are only given out by photographers (i.e. with characters, icons, etc.). The ride photos have never been available with the free cards. You need to either (1) buy the photo at the booth, (2) have a Magic Band with Memory Maker (although this may have changed to be any Magic Band to entice you to buy later), or (3) use the special card they mailed you for Memory Maker.
