It's not real clear in the description about how MM affects the dining pictures. When I've used PP+ in the past we would get our picture taken and then they would bring a hard copy to our table and the digital copy would be on our PP+ account for download or CD. Is MM all digital? One of the big values of PP+ was the printed pictures at dining and TPL, etc.

I subscribe to a Disney newsletter that a lady does and today she did a side by side of the PP+ and MM. That is one of the changes, you will only get the digital copy not any printed pics. I am still torn on what to do, we leave Jan 4th and I can't afford to pay for MM and then ship PP+ back and wait on a credit. I would rather the MM since it is attached to MBs, but I don't know that I have time.

Memory maker is completely digital. It does not have any physical component.

One other question. If it is associated with the MB does that mean anyone in my party can pick up their attraction photos and be on the same MM account?

Yep, they sure can.
Like Cais said, it's strictly digital; you don't get any actual photos. But according to this link, you can link everyone in your party to your MM and they would then be able to download their pictures: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/faq/memory-maker/family-friends-photo-downloading/

Only one person gains the ability to download. That's the Memory Maker. Everyone else can collect photos but only one account is flagged to download.

I have a question (leave Sunday and pre bought PP+) about MM and dinning.

Do you have to buy the photo package at say, chef mickey, to get the digital download, or are the downloads included (no additional fee), but no hard copy prints at time of sale?

Also, if I keep PP+, do I still have to buy the CM package? Will I have the option of hard copy prints?

So confused and no time to think as I have to decide on MM by tomorrow (3 days out!!)

TIA

That's not what it says on the link I posted:

"Q.

Does my Memory Maker purchase allow me to download photos linked to my family and friends?

A.

Yes. If other people are connected to your Family & Friends list and choose to share their photos taken during your Memory Maker window, you have the ability to download those photos."

1. No, MM includes downloads of ride and dining photos. If you want the photo package, you would need to buy it.

2. I could be wrong, but I'm under the impression that if you already have PP+, they'll honor it, which means that you would get the photo package for free.

Remember that the digital copy includes the right to make your own hard copy. You can do that quite inexpensively almost anywhere....8x10 color copies at Walmart are under $3 (compared to Disney's $15). And if you don't need it instantly, there are online places that you can upload your digital image and for literally pennies get copies sent to you (hint on these...sign up for their newsletters before you order because they constantly send free or penny sale ads).

I like the digital better because I can do some of my own graphics on them, print them on my own printer or upload to Sams Club or Walmart for a better print, use them on my website or in emails or however I want. AND...not having to carry that printed photo around Disney for a few hours after the meal and worry about bending it or losing it (yeah, I know you can ask that it be sent to the front for pick up, or your hotel if you're staying onsite....but I always forget to pick them up, airhead that I am).

This is the first year we have NOT gotten the Photopass CD.....the girls are older now and getting a photo with every character isn't a priority anymore and the huge increase in price was just beyond my threshold. I'm glad too, because there were NOT nearly as many photographers around....or characters wandering around. I know there were lots of places to stand in long lines to go in and see characters, but I have loads of photos of encounters on previous trips where we found characters wandering just by chance all around the parks, especially MK, and saw very very little of them this trip.

Actually that is what it says. It says YOU have the ability to download their photos. It does not say that they have the ability to download their photos.

If they're linked in your account you can download them but only the person who activates memory maker can actually download them.

We love getting the packages that they come with, although they are very pricey for some pretty cardboard. :) We've actually gotten the pictures from 1900PF blown up and printed from our past few years though another company so having digital definitely is a plus, but we did like the hard copies as well.

It's unfortunate that the price is the same while taking away value. :(

It is nice though that we can get rid of the lanyard (which my wife made me take off for pictures) and anyone can the ride pictures and not just the gatekeeper with the lanyard.

A few questions about MM+

Do you have to stop at the rides to add the photos?
Does it include all ride photos?
What if we are in 2 separate photos or ride the same ride twice?

Just read this in the FAQ for memory maker: Immediately after you have experienced a participating attraction, please visit the attraction’s Sales Center and link the photo to your Disney account. You can link the photo using any MagicBand or card linked to your account—including Memory Maker cards and Disney PhotoPass Cards.
Attraction photos can only be linked to your Disney account if Memory Maker is assigned to you. Your family and friends cannot link attraction photos to their Disney account.
As I Read this, i think only those folks that buy memory maker can have the ride photos not others who were able to previously share a PP cd, in much the same way that the PP+ lanyard and card had to be on the person who claimed the picture for the rides/attractions. Photographer made pictures can be linked. Someone tell me if I am reading it right.

Yes to all. The desk to get your photo is right at the exit. All rides with photos are included. There's no limit on how many from a. Single ride you can add.

It just means your party can get their photos but THEY cannot add them...the account holder has to add it to the MM account holder. So if say Bill travels with Mary who is the MM. Mary can get Bills photo to her account but Bill can't get it linked to his. So sounds like the MM has to put it on their account then download and share it with Bill. A pain but at least could be done. We did this with the PP+ family rode than I added it to the pass.

How do you attach memory maker to the mb?
I already have a package. Haven't bought pp+ yet. Noticed in the mde it showed I haven't linked mm.
