Memory Maker price increase tomorrow 12/3?

I heard the price of memory maker is increasing tomorrow 12/3 from a pre-order price of $149 to $169. Anyone know any truth to this? If so, I have a couple questions. We haven't decided if we want it or not yet for our trip at the end of April. If I add it now but change my mind later, am I able to cancel it? Also, do I pay for this upfront or does it just add on to my remaining balance of my trip? TIA!

I'm in the same boat.. I went to add it and it wants payment /today/. I don't see anything about canceling it later, but we aren't going until May and I want to use the money for Christmas, not prebuying photos half a year in advance. Knowing the price went up makes me want it less under the circumstances.... I'll have to reconsider when I get closer.

Well, I was seriously thinking about buying MM for our upcoming June trip, (even though $149 was a lot, considering my DH and DS don't like taking pics LOL, I was going to have to force them)

But, now with the increase, I think I will pass.

Remember if you have a travel package you can add MM at the current rate and pay for it 45 days before arrival.

I do know that it says "non-refundable", but when I recently traveled with family, my dad purchased it without realizing that I already had it and that we could share. They allowed me to cancel no problem. I don't know if the fact that someone else in my group had it made them more forgiving, or if they often allow someone to cancel it. I did buy it as part of my package and canceled long before my 45 day payment due date.

You having already ordered it probably played an toll but Disney will refund non-refundable items on occasion if you have a valid reason. For example party tickets.

Any way I can order it but not link it to my account? I"m considering a share with some friends but can't get a hold of them to see if they are in or not. If they are in, I want to put it on a dummy account like a share with people you don't know. If they aren't in, I can obviously link it to my account.

Thanks for the "heads-up" about the price increase. I bit the bullet and went ahead and prepurchased memory maker for my trip in 9 days! It's just a weekend trip, but I'm going back again the day after Christmas and I'm hoping it will cover both trips.

Glad everyone was able to get it before the price increase! I called lastnight & added it as well. I asked the CM about the price and all she would say is "As of today the price is $149" She would not say anything else about it! Lol!

I too am one that has been procrastinating on buying it. I was going back and forth on it, but when I told DH about the price increase he said to buy it, mainly because our upcoming trip is a trip without DH and he wants us to use it as much as possible so I can be in the pictures too. I'm thinking that he would of bought it at the increased price but at least we saved a few $$ buying it last night

I learned about the price increase this morning because of this thread

For budgeting / cash flow reasons, I was planning to buy Memory Maker next week, so the unexpected price increase was upsetting. We've had our reservation in the system since August 2013, and they email me 25x a day about other disney stuff, so a courtesy email warning of the price increase would have been appreciated.

I emailed this morning to complain that it was done with no real warning. The response did not address my complaint, but at least they responded. Our budget is what it is, so I'll save $20 somewhere else.
