Memory Maker for dummies. (Like me)

I prepaid for Memory maker and our trip is August 18-26th. Do I have to do anything else before we go or is it all set now until the pictures show up? I have searched but can't find anything that answers this.

You need to link it to your MDE account, once linked all you have to do is scan your magic band each time you have a picture taken.

Yep, make sure it is linked to your MDE account. If you purchased it as part of package, it should already be there. That is how mine worked anyway. When on attractions, you don't have to scan your MB, it will just show up. When taking pictures with Photopass photographers, they will scan your band. Sometimes, it does take a few hours to a day for the pictures to show up in your account.

I have a question about MM also.

I purchased it and it's linked to my package. When I go on MDE it says it's assigned to me. Just my name. But everyone on the MDE account can scan their MB with the photographers and the pics will show up on that one MM account correct?

Yes everyone's magic band can be scanned for the same MM account. Very handy when you are wanting to split off into groups.

As Mom2Stitch said, everyone's MBs will scan if they're linked to your account. My understanding is that the "assigned to you" verbiage means that you are the only one allowed to download and edit the photos which only really matters if sharing MM account with people who have separate MDE accounts and want to do something like add borders without going through you.

I've never seen the photographer get a video but you will get a video when you ride Mine Train.

We got videos on Minetrain and Tower of Terror. Also, we had a short video from the photographer taking our picture outside MK at the Mickey Floral. It was a quick video of Tink flying over our heads.

We have also gotten video when taking pictures on the bridge heading to gaston's tavern. It was either lumiere or chip (it was last September) and well as magic shots. They just appeared on our account.

Make sure you go on each night to check that all your pictures are there. If for some reason they aren't there should be able to find them and put them there for you. We had all ours show up except for one set by the castle at like 1:30am. We really wanted those pictures and were able to call and tell them when and where they were taken and they found them, took about 10 minutes. Everything else just appeared (ride photos) without scanning our bands, and with just a quick scan from the Photo Pass Photographer on my band for all character and posed photos.

Any one in your Friends & Family list that has it set to share their photos will you will show up in your Photopass account. So not just having them be F&F, but ensuring that they are set to share with you is key. Alternately, you still can get a plain photopass card and link that to your account. Only the person who has the MM entitlement tagged to their account can do the downloading, and only any bands or cards associated to that account can claim ride photos. Or at least so goes the FAQ on the website, people have reported just having the ride photos show up in their photopass account even without having MM (You would still need to buy them to download them).

When I used it in December, the 30 day window began with your first download. Photos "expire" aka leave your MDE account 45 days after they are taken so you'll also want to keep that deadline in mind.

The 30-day window doesn't start until you download a photo. And if you don't download one you can keep the Memory Maker purchase for a future trip. (If you happen to hate your photos this trip or something)
