Memory Maker for dummies. (Like me)

I use the heck out of our photopass. We take a ton of pictures everywhere all the time. Feel out the photographer, some will have a bit of fun with your group. Also make sure to divide up the group for photos. My DH and I took some 'couple shots' and had our girls pose alone. One photographer had the girls (ages 18 & 21) jumping in front of SSE. Those are my favorite shots. I also have a funny shot of me "holding up SSE" Have fun with it!

Make sure you go on each night to check that all your pictures are there. If for some reason they aren't there should be able to find them and put them there for you. We had all ours show up except for one set by the castle at like 1:30am. We really wanted those pictures and were able to call and tell them when and where they were taken and they found them, took about 10 minutes. Everything else just appeared (ride photos) without scanning our bands, and with just a quick scan from the Photo Pass Photographer on my band for all character and posed photos.

Last time we did this it was with PhotoPass+, so I want to make sure I understand. Back then, we had to take our card to the counter after a ride to get the photos added. It sounds from your description like we don't have to do that anymore? We can just bypass the photo counter all together? That would be awesome.

Yup! Last August when we went we didn't scan our bands once for any ride photos they just appeared on our account. I loved bypassing the photo line. We are about to head down there for 9 days and have MM again. We love the convenience of it!

I ordered mine on the MM website. You can order a variety of photo items (prints, gifts, etc) including your pictures on a CD.

Another question: if my friend purchases MM and links me as a friend in her MDE, will everyone else's photos on my MDE acct show up? Or does she have to add everyone in my MDE as a friend?

Just to be sure I understand, I have MM purchased and it shows up on our MDE. Now I have two reservations that are likned and we are all Friends and Family. I had that issue when I was trying to do something, Magic bands of FP, I cannto remember what, and two of us did nto show up.

If this is how we are then we all will be included in MM pictures through out bands? I know that the crew will be splitting up because I have two Frozen Haters and 4Frozen Fanatics, so DHS is going to be a lot of separate ways.

We got videos on Minetrain and Tower of Terror. Also, we had a short video from the photographer taking our picture outside MK at the Mickey Floral. It was a quick video of Tink flying over our heads.

We have also gotten video when taking pictures on the bridge heading to gaston's tavern. It was either lumiere or chip (it was last September) and well as magic shots. They just appeared on our account.

Just a quick point to clarify terminology. The "quick video of Tink and Lumiere" are called "Animated Magic Shots", the subject family is a still picture and the Disney character is a brief animation. Whenever we stopped for a PhotoPass Photographer, we asked if they had any Magic Shots or Animated Magic Shots, many of them did have them. They usually will give you (upload to your MM account) the original picture without any characters, then one or two with the characters. Pretty cool, definitely ask for them.

We're only going to WDW from a Tuesday mid-afternoon through a Satuday evening... Are we even there long enough to invest in MM? Or would it be a waste for us? The last day we are there, we are planning on going to BB for water fun.

I liked the old days where they just took your picture and you could even have them upload your pics off of your personal camera to the Disney CD.

It sounds like the Nikon sponsorship is paying off here - that's exactly what the Nikon 1 series of cameras does.

Last time I went, they were all using D90's with 18-105 mm lenses and a big SB-900 speedlight strapped on top.

Help me understand how the videos work. Are they automatically loaded? Do you get a video of you on the ride? Not sure I would want a video of my face going through the entire ride. Is it a video of the ride looking out from the front of the ride? Does anyone know if there are more than the Tower of Terror and the Mine Train?

Its not a video of you the whole time--there's stock footage that looks as if you were holding a camera & taping in front of you and pieced in are a few seconds showing your train coming down the hill, etc. Here's one from December . . .

Our trip is in 2.5 weeks. I haven't purchased MM yet, but will before the trip. We are a family of 4 and I am the only one with a MDE account. Will all 4 of us automatically be attached to the MM account? Since no one else has an MDE they can't authorize it.
