Memory Maker Activation

I went to activate my Memory Maker in the My Disney Experience App for our trip in coming up and it says its unable to activate at this time and a phone number to call. Anyone else get this or know why it won't activate? When I go on the My Disney Experience website I don't see a spot to activate.

From past experience, Memory Maker was activated the first time we used it. I didn't have to activate it online.

If memory maker is already linked to your account (and it should be) you don't need to do anything else.

Mine did the same thing. A month later I tried again, the website finally took it

Yeah, I don't think you can activate until you are actually ready to start using it, meaning you are there and your time limit (what is it, 14 days?) is now counting down. Try it once you get there and have photos to view. If you haven't yet activated, your pictures will have a watermark on them. I stumbled around the app and google for a good 10 minutes before I realized that MM was linked, but not activated. At that point, I activated from the app, and my time started running from that point (and the watermarks disappeared).

It automatically activates when you take the first picture. You don't need to do anything. As long as you purchased it and it is linked to your MDE

One other question. Will my friends and family (already linked and pushed button to share photos) automatically be linked? Will they see anything on their end?

how soon after it is activated and the first picture is taken can you see it on the MDE App... I'm guessing that is where you go to see the pics too?

Within minutes. We just used it in May. Checked a few minutes after first picture was taken and they were there. It did ask if I wanted to activate in order to remove watermark.

When we got Memory Maker last year all we had to do was link it to our MDE and that was it went to the parks and everything worked fine.

We have a package starting on a Saturday but decided to do an extra fly in day )Friday) and add a day to the tickets to hit Epcot. Will it activate for us on Friday?

Sorry for hijacking but wanted to ask... what happens if you link memory maker to MDE and cancel your trip? Will it just stay there until your next trip is planned?

I had to activate ours in May. It was simple. In the app under memory maker just click the activate now button.

I dont know if anyone specifically answered you - it sounds like you've taken the right steps to link them, so nothing else needs to be done. However, since they do not own the memory maker, when they are in their MDE, the pictures will still have the watermark on them. They should see all of the same photos (assuming both sides clicked the "so and so can view and purchase my photos" but only your account has the actual memory maker and will be able to download pictures.
