Memories Weddings and VRs! Chat Here!

:dance3: well the contract has been signed ,sealed and delivered (actually scanned and e-mailed) this is a good solution ladies, as it says in the documents that the contract needs to be sent back by registered mail or fedex, but when I asked our wedding co-ordinator if this was necessairy, she said that the scanned copy was fine and that there was no need to send it by mail. My wedding planning package is in the mail :dance3:

now to find and pick an officiant, a dress for mr and DD, and khakis and tops for DF and DS, pick flowers (order a cake, not incld in the memory package)

even though there is no cake included in the memories package, does anybody have a link to disney bakeries so that we can possibly add one on ?

Congrats on signing your contract:banana: - so exciting!

Check out this thread from the restaurant board - lots of great info on and pictures of cakes people have ordered to be delivered to the different restaurants and resorts.

We ordered a mini wedding cake to be added on to our tea after our vow renewal. I called the cake hotline and followed the prompts to talk to someone at the GF to set it up. Here's a pic:

This was just enough for two people but they can do something bigger of course!:goodvibes

Hi Ladies! Sorry, I have been working and trying to train for the Princess Half in just a few weeks! Ack! :scared1:

My girls and I are going on a 3 night cruise on the Dream for the younger one's 30th birthday the first week of October. The VR thing really just happened when I saw a e mail about it 3 weeks ago. Its something I have always wanted to do and the price, I feel, is reasonable for what we're getting.

I think I will have the VR at Conch Key at the GF since it is a little more on the remote side. My husband is willing to do this for me though he is not jumping up and down about it so I figured a quite location will be better for him.
That being said he has always supported my Disney mania and I own vacation club memberships at BLT's and WL. He and I have had several wonderful trips there and I just go off and run around the parks while he sits back and "works" at the pools!!!!

I congratulate everyone on all their upcoming events, I look forward to hearing about all the planning and I can't wait until I can call and book my date.

So far my plans are Conch Key, 3pm, tea at Garden view.

Here is a question... our anniversary is on the 23rd, a Sunday. I thought I wanted to do it on the date but in following the boards and deciding that I am going to do the "in room celebration", I am now thinking I should do it the day before. This way we can enjoy the amenities a bit longer. We can have our "tea" on Saturday and then a great dinner on our anniversary at the California Grill ( my favorite restaurant).
So should I follow my sentimental side and do it on the "date" ?

The family cruise sounds so nice! I look forward to one day doing things with my daughter as an adult. :goodvibes

I like the VR and tea on Sat, and a anniversary dinner on Sunday. I would like to do it on the date, too, but practical matters...besides, don't we mostly pick wedding dates based on schedule? :) You're making the best use of time! :thumbsup2

I am most impressed that your husband is doing tea! I LOVE tea but mine has never gone with me. His mom and my mom do it, though.

I see everyone here is a fan of CG, we have never done any of the signature dinning. We had originally planned on staying close by the villa and eating at jiko for our marriage celebration dinner (my parents will have the kids for the 1 night), but the menu at CG seemed more interesting to us, coupled with the fireworks view and sushi:cloud9:, but the dinning thread reviews have been awful lately, making me second guess my choices....

I have never been to Cali Grill...only Narcoose's with my girlfriends (team I am running with at the Princess!). We never do the nice places because of our munchkin, so we are looking forward to that!

Here are my details:goodvibes:

date of event: October 2010
years together: 10
location: Conch Key Marina
officiant: Rev. Miller
limo or in-room celebration: In-room celebration
music played: Canon in D, When You Wish Upon a Star, Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah
bouquet choice: Rose and hydrangea (pink/white)
any add-ons: "Circle of Love" rose petals, 8x8 hardcover photobook, print package
what you wore: A platinum-colored cocktail dress with beading at the waist
hair/make-up: Beaute Speciale
DPS Photographer: Regina
Post-ceremony meal: Tea at the Gardenview Lounge

Oh my goodness that sounds beautiful! I echo the desire for pictures! Nothing? I so want to see this!

Where did you get your dress? Isn't it silly that I am thinking about a dress when I don't have a date yet? :rotfl:

Please, any other details that you can think of, tell us!

Cast: Me (Liz) and Lorne - We were hoping his family from Michigan could make it but they can't (even with nine months notice) We're now getting excited to be just the two of us!

Date: August 2011 (Getting Close to the time to book!!:cool1:)

Years together: We're finally getting married after ten years together!

Location: Hopefully Luau Beach/Cove

Theme: UP/Vintage Disney - Ok . . .I know with a small package there isn't much room for a theme. But, we live here in Orlando and will be having a small dinner/reception at our apartment the weekend after. I'm going crazy with all the reception ideas. I can't wait!

Everything Else: My dress is actually a tea length Alfred Sung bridesmaid dress in Snow White (perfect color for a Disney Wedding). I'm adding a crinoline in bright pink and a large pink sash to add a little Vintage 1950's feel. He will be wearing a tan suit with some really cool leather converse sneakers.

We're also hoping on having a bridal photo session at DHS. The vintage feel of the park would be a great back drop and fit our theme. Plus, my DF is a HUGE star wars fan so star tours pics are a must! With no family attending and living spread across the country, our pics are going to be their way of being at our wedding. So, we might also add some extra photo time onto our Ceremony as well.

On a side note: I'm starting to freak out about what to do next. I called Disney before Christmas (they weren't very informative at that time) and they said to call back at the six month mark. That's this weekend. So do I have to call right on the six month mark? Can it be a little before? How does the whole contract signing go for a Memories Collection wedding? AGHHHH so many questions!

Anyone else feel this way? I guess I'm just a worry wart

Any help calming my nerves would be greatly appreciated!:lovestruc

I am loving your theme!!!!

What day are you looking at? We got married in August of 1999 and I just love that month for an anniversary. I love summer so I wanted something to look forward to at the end of summer. :goodvibes

The dress, suit, and photo ideas sound so fab. Post any pictures or links you have of things!

anybody know of a good female officiant in orlando ? We wanted a female non denominational officiant.

also interested to know if anybody is doing a unity ceremony, and if so, which one ?

I am not doing one - no kidling with us - BUT I love the sand one. So beautiful. Have you seen those?

I wanna play I wanna play :)

Hi! My Df and I are planning for Oct. 1st! We have already booked our reservations, and travel details, just have to wait until April 1st to book! We have been together for 5 years and have a 12 month old son. We are planning for it to be just the two of us, and have a large reception when we get back. We are REALLY excited and cant wait!

I am needing info on an officiant. How much do they cost? Any suggestions? Do we have to use a list of Disney preferred officiant? Also, I know if we do, that they wont send the list until we have, but does anyone have a copy of the list they would like to share so we can get a head start on looking?

Hi!!! So, tell us...theme? Where are you staying? Any other details? popcorn::

That cake is fab!!! Oh, that got me so excited about my VR!!!

We booked to stay at CSR. We stayed there on our first trip to Disney a few years back and really loved it so decided to go back. Its our fav. moderate. As far as theme im not sure yet, it really depends on what location we are able to book. We are really wanting a 9am time slot and were hoping for Luau beach. So if we do that im thinking the bright and bold bouquet. If not, we would like the Narcosses landing and I would go with the roses and hydrangeas bouquet( thinking about asking if I can do hydrangeas only and doing green and blue ones)

DF will be wearing the tan suit with white shirt and a tie that matches my flowers.

CSR is a great resort, we love it too ! congrats, when are your plans for ?

We are booked from Thursday Sep. 29-Tuesday Oct 4. Planning for Oct. 1st wedding. I am not sure why, but I am so scared about not be able to get the time slot and the location that we want:confused:

My husband does not know he is doing tea at Garden View yet but he will go along with whatever I want. He's a good guy:goodvibes I'm very lucky which is why I want to do this VR.
I must also admit I got the idea for the tea from LittleStinkerBelle, she did a tea after her VR and I thought it was a great idea. I did not know what to do.
I am hoping for a 3pm time slot so its to early for dinner. I thought about going to Mizner's lounge and doing champagne and ordering one of the mini wedding cakes but the tea is perfect. I have done it many times before with my girls and it is quite filling.
Then we could do a late snack in DTD if we're hungry. My hubby likes to smoke a cigar at the cigar bar there... everybody wins!!!!:woohoo:
BTW how do you do that "quote" thing?
I have said before I am a not very advanced with technology...... I only figured out how to put that photo on the side the other day after years of being on the boards:confused3
thanks

:goodvibes yay, we received our planning package and our honeymoon registry card :dance3:

so far I have decided on the bold and bright bouquet it's very tropical
we have decided to have the in room celebration instead of the limo
we are mostly decided on kevin knox wife (she is a notary) Theresa as our officiant

so the planning is well under way.... we have a breakfast celebration at kona booked for after the ceremonie.

Very exiting!!!
Do they send you photos of the bouquets you can chose from?
Do you think you will do any of the add on's?

I LOVE the tea idea...and I really do love the champagne idea, too. Hmm. I did the tea once there with my BFF and it was awesome! Also, we never go to DTD so that might be fun! Good ideas! :thumbsup2

Okay, quotes. On the bottom right of the posts there a button that says "quote" and one with these: " that is for multi quoting, like i did in this post. :) You have to have a certain number of posts before you can quote or multi quote.

We just booked (actually still waiting on the letter of agreement - I'll have it by the end of the week) our 9am ceremony at Luau Beach.

Is your ceremony at 9am? We're trying to decide where and when we want to have our celebration meal. I'm thinking a lunch meal but don't know. We're thinking of adding on some extra photo time so we probably won't be able to have a breakfast meal. :confused3

Plus, we're going to try and order a "fancy" small wedding cake to have at the restaurant we eat our meal at.

yep, were at 9:00 am on july 30th on luau beach, the ceremony is only 1 hour start to finish, so I am gonna want some tonga toast after all that!
we also want to order a wedding cake for after the ceremony.

I tried a copy paste of the flowers, but it is a PDF so it won't allow it, when I get home today I will see if i can find a photo somewhere else.

now the dress stress, I work in transport and wear steel cap boots most days and jeans, I am a total tomboy, and I hate my legs (i suppose doesn't matter with a wedding dress), my chest is way too large (yes, i am complaining about this :guilty:), I was looking at tiggerrficheidi's dress, whick is gorgeous, but she is tall and slim ,so it won't have the same effect on me :confused3 , i got an app on my iphone for dresses, i will start there :headache:

You have to bring your own sheet music or you can just tell them what you'd like. I'm glad that we can make it more personal with our own songs.
thanks

I think it probably depends what song you are asking for. If you ask for something that's lesser known and their violinists haven't performed it before then maybe they would ask you to provide the sheet music for your selection :confused3. We asked for Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah, which wasn't on the list but I figured would be no problem since it's Disney and I've seen other people use it at their weddings.

There's an app for that? No way! Cool!

No one really loves their body, and no one has a perfect body...you will find something that works for you. :goodvibes
