We are going to Orlando for 2 weeks next May and our middle weekend is Memorial Day weekend.

Has anyone been at that time before and does it get so busy you should avoid the parks ? Which is the busiest day Saturday, Sunday or Monday ?

I am going to book Discovery Cove for one of those days as numbers are limited to a maximum each day so won't be affected by busy periods but need to decide on the other 2 days.

yes, memorial day weekend is very crowded, since many families go ahead and take their kids out of school and make a real vacation out of the long weekend....it's the end of the school year, so who cares about a few missed days...

we haven't been there during memorial day weekend in 18 years, but if it was crowded then, it's sure to be crowded now...

but who cares.....it's WDW....we go every year in july despite the 4th of july (which is MUCH MUCH worse than memorial day weekend)....if you go early in the morning, the crowds won't be so bad.....that's the trick at WDW....always be there at opening and leave in the middle of the day when the crowds are oppressive.....

my guess is saturday will be the worst, then sunday, with monday being the least bad (since people who come only for the weekend will begin their journey back home that day)...

so i guess i would try for saturday in discovery cove if i were you...
we only spent a half day in discovery cove ourselves, but that's us...we never spend more than a few hours in any park anywhere.......

Hi, we were there this year over Memorial Weekend. We went to MK on the Friday (which incidently was the busiest park day we had during our whole visit)

We used the Sat & Sun as our rest/shopping days, and on the Monday we went to Blizzard Beach which wasn't too manic.

So can't give you any advice on how busy the parks were on the Sat & Sun but I think its definitely better to plan non-park stuff on these days.

Good luck......................:wave2:

we were there last year over memorial weekend, and will be there next year at the same time.

personally we arrange different things to do for all these days!, saturday is the worst day, but equally sunday and monday are VERY busy!

as we are there for 3 weeks, having a couple of days break from the parks is okay for us.
If crowds dont bother you, then take each day as it comes.
Personally I would do something different on these days, then take advantage of the lull, on the following days.
