1. I wouldn't make you be a DJ ( I can't believe I didn't think of that ) but you probably wouldn't be able to stop yourself from seeing if it would go to 11 .If they would just make those dial GO to 11, we wouldnt have to max out the EQs
2. While I do fear change, I have moved into the IPOD world so CD's are gone ( I think you are the only one I know besides myself with near the same amount of songs ( 5000 +/- ) Im with ya on that, I have very few cd's still hanging around...and they aint in good shape!!!
3 If we want to kick it old skool, with your line of work, you are probably the only other person I know that has a pile of those large black discs. since I'm a pack rat, I could probably locate my old AC/DC 8-track . I know I still have a player. ( and you think your a dork ) .

LOL....my first run in with the law...I was 13, and got caught "borrowing" a "FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK" 8trk from KMart!!!! The cops did the whole bad cop-good cop thing (which only resulted in them calling my mother, which was actually worse than if they had just brought me to jail) but it worked VERY well....I never shoplifted again!!!!!!

You would THINK I'd have a ton of vinyl being that Ive been a dj for so long, but but they all sold at garage sales many many years ago. Had I only known how much I see them going for on ebay today !!!!

We've tried to get reservations using every trick in the book. We finally have a full hook up site , BUT our date of arrival is Sunday the 25th! I'll keep trying for the 24th....this is a gatherning I wanna witness in person!

The trick is to reserve way more days than you want and then cancel the ones you do not want the next day or so. For example, I only wanted a site for May 24th. The system said booked so I kept expanding my days and finally got 24th but had to book the 19th thru the 27th to get the 24th. Wierd, but it works every time and I don't know why. Now I am calling and cancelling each day except the 24th.

I'm so bummed I can't join you all, it sounds like a blast. I will be camping in the White Mtns of New Hampshire that weekend. Though it is nice, I would much rather be with all of you. Anyway, in our Green Mickey head thread it was suggested that a T shirt be made for your gathering with a design Rog had done. I added some lettering and thought I would post it here for you to see. Where in Maine? My daughter and her husband are going to Acadia in June for a week. We used to go to Bar Harbor in the summers on occasion. I think we have a lot of relatives still in Maine. Just don't know any of them.

We tried this. We were able to get the 25th-June 1st by booking an extra week in June and then cancelling it. But if we included the 24th in there...we couldn't get a full hookup site...even if we included a week or two before the 24th. It would only show partials available.

Okay. here is what's happening. I cancelled all the days on my second reservation except the day of the 24th and tied it into the GG. Now, here is the problem that I did not realize until now. My original ressie for my site was for Full Hookup. The 2nd ressie I made for the one day is in a preferred site so they cannot tie them together and I could not downgrade the one or upgrade the other as no sites were available. The good news is the vacant site ressie is tied to the GG so someone will have the vacant site next to them if someone in the GG has a preferred site ressie, I hope.

When I check in I will try to make sure we have a site next to someone. Sometimes it is easier when you get there to do this than over the phone.

We are in Winslow, it is about 25 mins. north of Augusta. Acadia is about 1 1/2-2 hours from us. It is beautiful there, I haven't been there in a while though. To crowded for me in the summer. It's funny how everyone wants to come here and we just want to leave!

Ah, just show up, we'll get you a pass to park in overflow and you can stay with one of us. I have an extra tent we can pitch in the back...heck it is for one night!

Jen, you're too kind! I'd love to...but I've got dh and little ones coming with me! I tried again today and still no luck. The CM did say that they had lots of cancellations lately, so I'll keep trying.

I have at least 5 air mattresses already down there you can borrow for the tent if you go that route. Just let me know and they will be delivered to the fort for you. I have 1 large (queen maybe) and 4 singles.

I just read this thread and it makes me so grateful that i have my own bed to come home to at the fort. So glad i don't have to lie down in hotel rooms and wonder what was done there by the previous guests.

BTW- I got the smoker cooking right now. I am practicing for the MMGG.

I have fresh Dolphin (Mahi Mahi) and shrimp in there...I will let you know if I screwed it up or not!

The only fish we've done in the smoker is mullet. Let us know how the shrimp & mahi-mahi came out. The only way I think you could "screw it up" is by leaving it in the smoker too long. I LOVE smoked fish!! (If you don't roll it in the paper correctly though, you have a hard time taking a drag off it. )
