Membership Magic Beyond

So I have an AP with Memory Maker active at the moment, but not planning to renew when it expires this spring. I have a trip planned next month, and another trip later this year. For my first trip, I'm wondering if Disney's systems will recognize that I currently have an active Memory Maker and save my MMB Memory Maker benefit for my later trip. Any thoughts on that? Or should I check with MS (but not today since they're apparently swamped)?
Not sure but I can confirm they're swamped. Idk why they weren't more prepared for this (not the cast members but the system itself). I got through after 50 minutes of waiting and then it took an additional 30 minutes to buy the OTU points and get the room I wanted booked and I knew exactly what I wanted and had everything ready to go.

After re-reading, I changed my post. The CM I spoke with about a similar situation said since this is a new program, it is best to stop at a photo pass kiosk on your first park day.

In case anyone had my issue with purchasing a Memory Maker package before the DVC announcement of Member Magic Beyond, I was able to get a full refund of the purchased MM package.

Has anyone had the chance to upgrade a membership magic beyond park ticket to something else? I am hoping that you are credited the full price rather than the purchase price of the ticket - otherwise it's not a deal.
If we are credited the full price, then I will buy the Disneyland tickets now and upgrade while there later this year.

I called in this morning at 9:30am ET. It took about 40 mins to reach someone. Chatted for a few mins and I had the date and room already selected to provide. She put me back on hold to get a supervisor approval. about 40 mins later she was back and said the room would be held while they processed it. They would call me back to confirm.

As of this evening nothing is showing in my reservations dashboard and no calls back. There's no rush for us on this, but they're definitely overrun. Gotta get this working online. No need to have someone involved to manually do this.

It was nice to use my 10% discounted DGC to purchase the 24 points! So it ended up costing $216 for our 24 pts to swap out on an existing reservation. Not bad!

I called this afternoon after a 70 min wait I was disconnected. I called back and reached a CM 45 minutes later we chatted for a bit she was genuinely sorry to hear about me being disconnected ,told me she had been called in early today but didn't know about the BOGO deal. Asked me what I wanted to book and she held it for me while we went onto the buying of points. She placed me on hold for about 20 minutes and we were done. A long process but it's the perks of being retired.

Was she new? The MMB was announced in October so I'm hoping so....

Proudly still DVC-Y until they add some tangible benefits (for us, at least). We're banking over 200 points this year, so no need for OTUP... Still a bit salty that they will start locking us out of the lounge if we haven't "paid".

For us, they need to add some better carrot to get us to do this. Things I'd like to see:
  • Discounts on Golf Carts at FW
  • Discounts on DDP
  • Ability to buy Full AP via Points
  • Certain # of Water Park admissions
  • Certain # of rounds of golf
  • Included refillable cups at Aulani
And actually, I think that the paid perks program is a terrible idea. To me, it doesn't move their sales goals, and it would make more sense to tier in benefits, maybe at 300/500/700 points?

All that said, for those of you whom this does work for, I do hope that you are definitely getting use out of it and enjoy it!
When you say full AP, do you mean Incredipass? If so, seconding this. It’s a bummer we can’t use points for that occasionally. I don’t expect to be renting much but in the event we have excess points I’d love to be able to apply it to our APs.

I am hoping all this yields a better outcome in the end (like buying OTUP online). That said, it still always amazes me how they always seem unprepared for these things. I don’t expect it to be perfect.

Yes. OTUP, being that it can only be purchased and used during the free for all period (<7 months), is inherently time-sensitive as well! 2/3rds of the remaining calendar is within OTUP range. They had to know a high % of subscribers to this new benefit package would call in within the first couple days 🙄

The buy button was disabled for us as well which is why we called but we were refused as we were international (Canadian),
Why are international members not eligible?
Looks like we are effectively banned from lounges as US citizens can buy their way in ahead of international members. International members no longer welcome in the lounges?
Is this a move to a two tier DVC America first program?

I'm struggling to find a reason why me, as a Canadian, can have lounge access, but not pay for a membership to have added benefits of that same lounge access.
