Membership Magic Beyond

What do you mean by regardless of contracts or memberships?

I own three memberships. I currently can buy 24 OTU points on each one as they are different.

However, as a member who is part of MMB, I will only get thre BOGO free price on 24. I can’t get the benefit for each.

So, if I buy 12 and get my 12 free on my June UY, I will pay full price for the others if I buy on a different membership.

Basically, I can still buy on each…but I am only get the half price deal on one set.

Further info I asked about and got an answer to. Any owner who buys into MMB will unlock the benefits.

So, if my son, who lives in a different household wants to access the tickets and BOGO free benefit on the membership he is on, he would be able to as long as I didn’t use my BOGO free on that membership.

Basically, me being an owner on more than one does prevent him from purchasing and accessing it for his family.

The other piece is that they will allow owners to transfer points between memberships to purchase the AP with points, as well as borrow points to do so.

Direct points only but when I asked about resale points bought prior to 2012, which are eligible for Disney collection, CM wasn’t positive but said when someone calls, MS will review owners accounts and let them know which points can be used.

I see many people and the FAQ confirming borrowed points can be used, but can banked points be used as well?

Was it confirmed that you could only purchase 1 MMB if you only have one Direct Membership? As opposed to each person on that membership being able to purchase?

More than one owner in a household could purchase if, for example, each wants to be able to visit the lounge during the expended hours or access the priority list.

However, it’s not needed for things like tickets, AP purchase with points or OTU points because the person can oruchase for the household.

What I’m getting at is can you then purchase the BOGO OTUP with each of your MMB?

A membership is still limited to 24 OTU points per UY so that won’t change.

So, in that sense, it isn’t going to gain for two to buy.

There is only one situation I could see it working but it’s only work for one ywsr.

Say you have a June UY…you get yhe deal fie a trip in your June 2025 UY.

In November, the other owners buys the program to unlock the deal for a trip in the June 2026 UY.

However, their benefit would end December 31st, 2025 so doesn’t seem to be worth it. It would be better for the original owner to just buy for 2026 and get the deal again for a trip in the June 2026 UY

The only reason two owners buying who have more than one membership could work because they are different memberships and every membership is allowed to buy up to 24 OTU points.

Thanks for all the updates.

We have three.memberships . Only one is blue card. Can wife buy another mmb and use otup benefit in non blue membership year?

The mmb does not appear to be linked to a membership year that we can see.

The benefits apply to the member and they are entitled to use the benefit during the benefit period.

Since all memberships, resale included, can buy OTU points, it sounded like yes, should be eligible to purchase BOGO free OTU points for one membership and you another as long as you both join.

A question asked at one of the meetings was about staying on resale points and using it. The answer was it doesn’t matter…as long as you are eligible for MMB, then you can use the benefits at the lounge, memory maker, etc while staying on your points.

The most important thing is the rules for OTU points have not changed…MMB members simple get to buy their set using the BOGO free price once during the calendar year of 2025…

Guess they must have run the numbers and found that too many members wouldn’t have bought in if owners couldn’t stay on resale points and still get access to the added benefits.

Membership extras have never been tied to points used for a reservation. So, just like the discounts and benefits we currently get, we get to purchase access these benefits as long as you are eligible for DVC Y.

So, it’s following the same rules as current practice.

I bought 4 OTU pts yesterday. I asked MS how that would work for the $99 add on and she confirmed my understanding.

My UY is August. I bought 4 OTU pts and so up until August 2025, I can buy 10 pts and get 10 free.

But if I wait to purchase in August, I can buy 12 and get 12 free.

There is a limit of one OTU pts “deal” per CALENDAR yr. Not per UY.

Regardless, it is still beneficial to us. We are just shy of 400 pts and always borrowing and 24 pts a year for the price of 12 and not having to pay dues on those pts++

Incidentally, the 4 OTU pts I bought yesterday came from the GC pool. The Grand Californian is showing on my membership :)

at seven months though, a point is a point unless then they are resale and then all I hear is “no Riviera for you”.

I have a June UY by myself and DH and I are on a Oct UY together. I purchased the MMB, but DH has not. If I buy the OTU points do I have to specify which membership they go with or does member services get to pick? (Or, does it go with the membership that the other points used to make the reservation is being made?) Have you been able to tell from your past OTU purchases?

You need to tell MS which membership you wish to make a reservation at and then they will apply the OTUP to that reservation in that membership.

Since you can ONLY buy OTU points when you book a new reservation…the membership they ‘go with’ will be the one you are using to book your reservation with…
