We are so excited! DW just called and said our member number came in the mail today! She already booked our first DVC trip!
 
For others reading, if you need to make a reservation, don't wait for the member info to be mailed to you. You can get the info by calling MS.

Ok Disneynutz I keep hearing people say not to wait. What do you mean. My deed is filed with the orange county and shows up on the web site last friday, Magic vacation title sent me a letter saying it was closed and once they received the deed they would send it to Disney. At what point can I hurry things up and call?

Your new account will be processed by at least 2 people. First they will establish your account then within a couple of days a different person will load the points.

I have always called the MS phone number and asked the CM to check for our account by searching by SSN. They then gave me our website login info and our member number. I never received any mailed info other than our member ID's which took a few weeks.

If they can't find your info, call back a couple of days later.

If my deed showed up last week is it to early to be calling?

We tried to call in advance, but since we paid cash they did not have our ssn on file and therefore they could not help us. We got our trip booked and it all worked out, but it was frustrating that we could not get our member id early over the phone.
 
I never thought of that. They don't have my SS either. We paid by cashiers check and I just checked the paperwork. No ss anywhere. I guess I'll just have to sit a wait:(

I called and used the sellers contract number that is on the closing papers. They looked it up that way.

Well I tried. Not in the system yet. Interesting enough all he ask for was my name and last 4 of my social. As far I as I know my social has not been on anything. Kind of interesting. Anyway. I'll just sit and wait. I guess this is the adult form of "Are we there yet?".
