Member Cruise

I notice that 2004 was skipped--does Disney plan to have the MC yearly?
Does anyone know?

In 2004 they did Member Homecoming at WDW to celebrate the opening of SSR.

It was a lot of fun but I don't think it was near as successful as the Member Cruises. Having said that it would be nice if they mixed it up a bit and had another land based event. Cruising isn't for everyone.

We also suggested to them that if they wanted to get more new cruisers that they try two cruises. Keep a 4 day for the newer cruisers and plan a 7 day one for those of us who love to cruise.

After speaking to a good number of people who plan these events the one thing I know is that they listen to feedback and they are always trying to come up with fun events for the membership.

I would love to have a 7 night Member Cruise. That way those that aren't sure of cruising could try out the 4 night and those of us who are cruise junkies could do the 7 night. The 4 night cruises are just too short.

Just to clarify..........I, personally, LOVE the 7 night cruises and wish I could cruise all year......BUT, since the Member cruise is in October, it's tough for the kids to lose too many days of school. I'm sure if they had a 7 night Member cruise during the summer, the points would be out-of-this-world though.
If we get through on Dec 3, this will be our 3rd Disney cruise (but our first Member cruise). :thewave:

We basically bought DVC for the cruises. We've been on 5 7 day cruises, and usually book onboard for the next year and pay $800/person category 11 inside. (we don't care...we are never in the room) PLUS get a $200 onboard credit. I am just STUNNED that the cash value of a friggin' 4 day cruise is $1008 per person. I was very depressed after seeing this thinking we may have made a BIG mistake buying DVC. Needless to say, we'll just be on the regular old 7 day in May.
