Member cruise and DVC news

Thought I would share some stuff that I heard at the update on the member cruise.

- Points at DLP and DL have been lowered for the 50 years Celebration
- You will be able to use points at Concierge level Contemporary and at Fort Wilderness campground (starting at 8 points a night)
- 7 New concierge locations added
- New II exchanges added
- Starting October 10% discount on online shopping at Disney (the site that is now Disney Direct but will get another name then. shipping is v. expensive but if you're going to the US you can get it delivered to your hotel. I did that last trip, ordered lots of discounted pins for trading!)
- There will be a member cruise next year; October 22nd.
- By the end of this year you will be able to view your points account online.

There was more, but I can't remember it all.
Lot's of nice iniatives for add ons on the cruise - stays at DL, DLP and Tokyo!
Plus $8 discount and late banking availability if you had an Oct/Nov/Dec use year - so you could buy the points and bank them into next year straight away.

Cruise was fun, lots of gifts & special activities. Quite a few brits (saw them all on debarkation day at 06.30!). A bit too much of the Hi-di-hi factor for us and of course the ship was full. Still had a great time though, despite being diverted to Ft Lauderdale due to Ophelia.

The online point check sounds good - well, what I mean is that all the other perks sound good, but this is probably the only one that I'll get to take advantage of!
