Why is she the new correspondant for everything on ABC now? Her only claim to "fame" is being dumped by the bachelor and then being an emergency replacement on DWTS.

It's time to let her go.

I like her. But I don't watch ABC news shows.

I don't think you have to have some sort of bigger "claim to fame" before becoming a correspondent. She became a public person...yup, for being on the Bachelor, and yes, it made the news and she got attention for being "dumped"; she moved on to Dancing with the Stars (yes, as a replacement ...lots of great things happen to people because they were in the right place at the right time). She did well, dancing and speaking...bubbly and well-spoken (IMHO, and obviously PTB). That opened the door for opportunities, I assume those have gone well, and she got more opportunities.

Eh, I think she's pretty and has some sort of 'appeal'. I'd rather see her than many other semi-celebs out there.

In these tough times, I think she is more more symbolic. If she can be dumped, be a replacement for DWTW & make it to the finals, anyone's life in these tough times of losing jobs, houses, relationships, etc., can make it back stronger.

When I first turned the TV on and saw her, it took a few minutes for me to realize who she was.

I say, "good for her", that she seized her opportunity in the spotlight and ran with it!

Wasn't she also a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader? I was so addicted to that "Making the Team" series even though I'm not a cheerleading fan. She has a great attitude, so go girl go!

Also noticed she said she was going to kiss her husband at midnight. Didn't know she got married. Good for her.

I totally agree with everyone else ~ good for her! She's a beautiful young lady & why not go for it? She was a kick on last night's show, I really enjoyed her! I think if she goes places from the whole bachelor mishap, good for her!

PEOPLE.com) -- Saturday was the big day for "Bachelor" and "Dancing with the Stars" contestant Melissa Rycroft, who tied the knot with her fiancé, insurance agent Tye Strickland, in Mexico on Saturday, PEOPLE has learned.
The couple, who met three years ago in their hometown Dallas, got engaged in June, less than four months after Rycroft was jilted on national television by "Bachelor" star Jason Mesnick.
"I'm really happy for her," Mesnick told PEOPLE. "This whole journey took her to a place where things looked like they were down for her. But then she ended up with the person she was meant to be with. That's what life's all about. I couldn't be happier for her."
Indeed, after what looked like a downer season of "The Bachelor", it turns out that Mesnick and his top three choices on the dating show all found love in 2009. After splitting with Rycroft, Mesnick began dating runner-up Molly Malaney. The two became engaged last October in New Zealand.
Then second runner-up, Jillian Harris, starred on "The Bachelorette." She and Chicago, Illinois software consultant Ed Swiderski got engaged on the season finale last May and are now living together in Chicago.
Rycroft, 26, and Strickland, 28, were previously a couple but split shortly before she left to be a contestant on "The Bachelor" last year. The couple rekindled in January, Rycroft told PEOPLE.
"Tye and I picked right back up," Rycroft said shortly after getting engaged. "He's my best friend."
Rycroft wore an Alfred Angelo gown at the south-of-the-border nuptials, which was attended by family and close friends.
"We want to have it be as fun and relaxing as possible for our families," Rycroft said last summer as she and Strickland planned for the big day. "I just want it to be fun and a day everyone will remember. Tye is my true love."

I agree! I didn't know who she was until DWTS but I thought she was very nice.

I don't watch The Bachelor but I loved her on DWTS. I'm glad to see she is doing well! I was happy to see her last night. She has a great attitude and she is very pretty.

This is funny. Last night we had no clue who she is/was. We had to goggle her. All of us wondered why she was on the NYE show.

I love how she took that public humiliation and made it work for her. Nothing wrong with making a few bucks and getting a manager to make it in this business. She has amazing appeal, why not run with it!
