I am struggling along.
The infection in my leg originally started from a small patch of eczema.
It spread from my ankle to my knee and the treated it with IV antibiotics unfortunately I developed a severe allergic reaction to Rorocephin--can you say body wide rash and EXTREME itching and water blisters on my left arm.
The put another IV in and tried dalacin C which after 3 days I also became worse with such extreme swelling and rash that tey have stopped antibiotics.they think i am allergic to both anbiotics now. I have swelling and pain around the first IV site and they have now marked the area with a marker and have to watch for more swelling and infection.I'm taking benadryl every 3 hours and predisone and hydroxyzine. I have never had such an itch in my life. My arms feel burnt.I can't even get to a happy place right now.
So to be so down but maybe that is good that I have only up to go to.

Being ill is no fun and when your meds are working against you, that makes it 10 time worse....

coming up a bit today.
The doctor says the cellulitis (skin infection)seems to be gone,
the discoloration of the leg will take time to heal.I don't even care what it looks like.
The itch is down to bearable. The rash is drying and hopefully healing.
My body is a wreck but there is hope,the doctor said I have burns and blisters due to a thing called Steven Johnson Syndrome caused by a severe
allergic reaction to the antibiotics.My arms will dry and peel like a burn.It also seems the IV's on both arms did something called inflitration?So now I need some tlc.

Feeling better today
They are now not sure I have Steven Johnson Syndrome,well they were last week but apparently not enough of my skin (sloughed) off.I know gross.
Anyhow I am on some new anti itch meds and skin lotion and we will see
how things go. There is still a risk of the areas of skin that have peeled off becoming infected so i have to be very careful.
A few people have PM me and just to let you know I am hoping to be back to my Mel's Corner Coupons in about 10 days if all goes well.
Well off to cut my nails again so i don't scratch in my sleep-that is when i'm able to sleep.

I just ordered a Medic Alert bracelet which has made me feel safer.
