My friends who worked at a psych. hosp. told me about that. It has some long medical name but is commonly called wet brain. I know of a 50 year old woman who has been in a nursing home for a few years.

Oksana may be a lousy person or gold digger (and I don't know if she is or not), but I think she deserves a medal for having to put up with Mel at all.

No medal from me - no woman should put up with this type of maniac. In my opinion she stayed too long.

My dis doctor opinion is that Mel is Bipolar. He self medicates with alcohol and the result are these frenzied rants. followed by the self loathing crash.

Well I know two psychiatrists and an addiction specialist (LCSW) who say that's a real possibility. I think everyone would have to agree that he is NUTS in a mean and angry way.

Yes, she taped him because she was afraid for her life (and I would have been as well, and I would do exactly the same thing), and she needed to get him on tape threatening her.

She needed to get herself and her child out of that situation. Yes it might be helpful with custody issues - but courts let some pretty horrible people out there keep parental rights everyday. So that's not even a sure thing.

Staying with a maniacal raging man especially with a small child just so you can capture it on tape is not a wise decision. Some of the reports say she had two teeth knocked out (not sure if that has been authenticated). What if it had been worse? What would happen to her child if she was dead? It is too risky staying around so you can get evidence.

This is new data in the Mel story - but it didn't really expose anything that most people didn't already know. He's mean, vile, abusive, foulmouthed, etc etc.

Well, first of all, I'm not changing my opinion or viewpoint on a single word I said.

Second, we don't know if Oksana stayed with Mel "just so she could capture it on tape." I never said that and that was never implied. Things get taken out of context on message boards. I said she needed to get him on tape, which is entirely different. Have you talked to Oksana? Have you asked her why she stayed or IF she was trying to get out? Do we even know when exactly she got out of the relationship? Maybe she was living separately for a while. She still needed to get his threats on tape. I sure as heck don't know what the situation was with her, or what the 'back story' was. I only know what we hear on the tapes, and Mel handed the ammunition to her on a silver platter.

Third, I knew prior to this was that Mel was anti-Semitic and probably homophobic. I figured there was more to it than that, which was not being exposed, but I didn't know the depths of his madness. I had no clue he had so much hatred for so many facets of society, and I had no clue he was abusive to his girlfriend and mother of his child, and that he was literally so rage-filled that he sounds possessed by satan. Also, I didn't know he was prone to death threats, so this is all news to me.

ETA: Okay, saw the photo. Why does she look fine? I mean, her tooth is messed up, but if he punched her in the mouth, why are her lips not showing any effect of that? If someone is punched, elbowed, or hit in the mouth hard enough to chip a veneer and knock one out you would think that they would end up with a fat lip, maybe some bruising, something. Seems a bit odd.

So I am a little confused with the story we are telling here. Just because the ex stated something about her marriage does not mean she was not dealing with his mental illness. Just saying....

The story was regarding his wife. The divorce is not final yet, so technically, they are still married. Yes, it is possible that he was sick even during their marriage. Who knows. And it's also possible that she agreed to write the letter for his custody hearing as part of their divorce settlement.

I tend to think that shady dealings are going on here all around the table and Mel is really going crazy.

Wow, The judge declared that Mel is no danger to his daughter with this women.

The dentist who supposed fixed O teeth after Mel knocked them out is saying that it didn't appear to him that they were kncoked out by being hit in the mouth.

I haven't been watching TV today. In fact, I wasn't even sure if there were any new recordings released today. I know the RadarOnline guy says that the remaining stuff (a few minutes which we have not heard yet) is possibly the most explosive in terms of shining a spotlight on the domestic violence issue, whatever that means. Mel doesn't dispute on the recordings that he hit Oksana. He said she deserved it. And she mentioned to him that he knocked out teeth, and he didn't argue that point.

So unless the judge is just totally ignoring the recordings and what Mel said, it would seem that Mel's own comments are powerful evidence.

I have no idea, if it's him on the tapes and the tapes haven't been doctored. Then he needs to get help ASAP

I am not sure of anything either, but unfortunately if it is him and then there is some confusing info about the gf, that possibly there are two unstable people in this relationship.

I will agree with another that it seems like the alcohol has caused, is causing a problem so I do think there is an issue for the little baby. But, at the same time, I find it strange to stay with someone, record all the phone calls etc. I did see the pictures too of the gf with the tooth issue, and like another, I thought why wasn't there more damage. So, for me personally getting a weird weird vibe from the whole situation. I guess the pictures are doctored?

Its unforgiveable and there is no excuse for him to do this. I really don't think he has a career left with all the issues he has had for the last few years. But it kinda sounds like she finally came to her senses and started recording things for the safety of the baby. I thought I had read a report that until the tapes came out they had decided he would get visitation and she would get like 20 million dollars. Then the tapes came out a couple days later. I will have to go back and reread. Regardless of anything, really really sad for the baby, his children from his previous marriage and everyone involved.

You got it right. Who knows the true story though. You know the saying. There's his story, her story and the truth. And now we can add in the wife's story too.

There is a very distinct possibility that the judge will NOT use the recordings. Based on the laws in California I believe that if Mel was not aware he was being recorded they are not admissible. Beyond that there are rumors circulating that she may be responsible for the leak of these tapes to the media, when they were to be locked away by court order. If that is true, then I would say the judge would not cast a very positive eye in Oksana's favor.
