That's just one example. Things like not being able to get mental health support after Harry has publicly admitted to being in counseling for years, the revolving door of staff with bullying claims both before and after they left the RF, etc.

There are just a lot of inconsistencies.

While I wish the pair all the luck, safety, success in the world, I am not interested in this type of show. I do have a fascination with the royals, and I guess that's why I'm not very interested. It's not filmed in their home. I think it was in People magazine that had her explanation of why--which is fine, but that leaves little of interest to me.

We don't know that, or at least I don't.

When she speaks, or when Harry speaks about her, it always feels as if it's a crafted statement designed to create an image of some type of earth mother/truth teller/oracle of wisdom/protector of the downtrodden, etc. If you pay attention most of the time the narrative is always presented with these little details sprinkled in as if they're merely an aside, instead of the point of the story designed to spin just the perfect image. Too curated, too disingenuous for me to accept it as being credible. That's got nothing to do with the royals, her being an American, a woman, or racially mixed.

Her husband spent too many years breathing the same air as his uncle, because his ability to tell the truth is only marginally better. There's good reason the Queen wanted to keep up the curtain of mystique around the royal family. If they were all out publicly spilling their stories the way Harry and Megan have the monarchy would get tossed out on its ear. The Queen's lauded devotion to her duty left a legacy of a seriously messed up family, many of whom seriously overestimate their self-importance among other personality flaws.

This is also what makes it so tragic. At every point, Meghan seems desperate to avoid criticism and to never say anything that might give the appearance of distinction or notability. The show’s title feels entirely sincere; all she wants is to be loved, and she’s making a bid for that affection by offering up her own love to a vast and impersonal Netflix viewership. But she’s so cautious, so focused on superficialities, and so unconscious of her disconnect from everyday life.

She comes off, in short, like a member of the British royal family: afraid of showing vulnerability, obsessed with appearances, and seeking affirmation from a public she cannot be part of. Nothing could be weirder or more depressing.

I read that the alleged second season was simply half of the first season already filmed. I don’t know if that is true or not. Perhaps it’s like when a network only orders half a season and then picks up the other half in the summer or as a fill in.

I was on Harry and Meghan’s side when they got married, but there have been so many questionable things they have done, starting just before they left the RF, that it’s difficult to support their actions anymore. If they would just pick something and put real effort into it, I think they would do much better. It feels like they are just throwing things at the wall to see what sticks, and the wall is made of Teflon.

I was on their side too. I thought Harry, who never wanted to be Royal and all the constraints that put on him, could finally be himself, and do causes he cares about, like the Invictus Games, which he founded. Or follow in his mother's footsteps when she brought to light the landmines still in war-torn countries.

But, the two of them have just turned into whiny, entitled celebrities who put out stories that are later proven to be extreme exaggerations where they constantly are victims.

I watched part of the 1st episode. It was so pretentious and fake...it was almost laughable. None of it was anything that normal people would actually do. Like, the pot thingy she cooked the pasta in costs >$200. And who in the world cooks while wearing a big pirate shirt? That's WHITE?

It was filmed back to back with the first season. So, this was already in the plan.

There is not much they can do with the feedback about the first series.

Most likely Meghan will also wear full whites and beiges while making tomato sauce in the second season.

But maybe they can edit out phrases like "I have been keeping bees for over a year, yet I know nothing about bees and let someone else do it for me." combined with "I do not really like honey." Or not show that she puts edible flowers on everything.

If Meghan behaves in the second series as she did in the first, the reviews will be the same and Netflix will indefintely pull the plug. The only thing which can save her now, is if her lifestyle products become a big hit.

With Love, Meghan drew 526,000 households, according to data culled by Samba TV, a TV tech company that measures audience data. Those numbers include live plus five-day viewership of the program since its premiere.

By comparison, that was barely a quarter of the viewership that Harry & Meghan drew in a smaller window (live plus three days) when it bowed. The show posted 2.1 million households.

Who was most interested in the Duchess of Sussex’s latest TV outing? Samba found that Generation X households (adults 45-54) over-indexed by 4%, meaning they were slightly more likely than average to watch the program.

I'm almost done with the first season. The content is pretty good. I don't understand the negativity about the kitchen and the pasta pot. The kitchen is a basic farmhouse style, and it's not even that pristine. The cookware line has been around for 100 years, so apparently it's well-loved by many people.

No, she didn't. He still hasn't met Harry or his grand children. Still not on speaking terms.

He did react to her show and it seems the urge to be perfect is part of Meghan's personality.

So I saw that Roy Choi was one of her guests so I watched that episode today and enjoyed it. We’ve been to his restaurant in Vegas and it’s amazing. They had really good banter since they both grew up in LA. She seemed very natural with him. A good episode.

(I haven't seen it.) It could be because it's the first episode and she just needs to find her rhythm for it. It could possibly be that she felt protective of her friend. She knows she, herself, will be under the microscope and every move scrutinized and criticized. She may not have wanted it for her friend, so she was being extra careful aka wooden in their interaction.

No, they haven't. EVERY time they've had an interaction since she's been with Harry, her father has sold info or his responses to the tabloids.

I did not expect all the hate from this board - interesting. Just what do you expect Harry and Meghan to do with their lives? He's not in line to the throne and neither of them seem to be the type that would be content just playing the part of the doting royal in-laws. "Escaping" to a place like Montecito seems like a pretty ideal move if you ask me. Good for them. AFAIC, it is the royal family that should be more supportive - or at least understanding.

I have been watching - at least the first couple of episodes. It's not bad. I do wonder how much help she is getting behind the scenes. I do find her to be a lot more believable than the Kardashians. Anybody that believes that anything they do is not entirely scripted - ho boy, do I have a bridge to sell you!

What I find the most believable (and enjoyable) is the sit down she has with each guest once they have finished cooking. So that is how the people in Montecito live - OK.
