Day 6 Animal Kingdom

Finally back to the trip reports.

We have decided that Animal Kingdom is our favorite park. The CM's are great and very helpful.

We arrive for our last day at the parks. The weather is nice not too hot and not too cold a perfect day for the Kingdom. we enter the park with no problem and head over to the Lion King show. We didn't get to see this show last year and we wanted to make sure that we caught it this year and boy were we glad taht we did. This is a great show. All of us were sitting there wide eyed watching all the action. There was little lady that was there celebrating her 96th birthday and had been there last year on her birthday as well. They brought her out and everyone sang happy birthday. It was nice. We were glad that they enclosed the area for the show it could be unpleasant if the weather was nice.

We leave the lion King and head over for the Safaris. We had done this last year and enjoyed it but put it on the list to do if we got some of the other things out of the way first. Well after the Lion King we decided that Megan enjoyed the safaris so lets go. We didn't have to wait too long for our car and then we were off. we saw so many more animals this year it could be that the temperatures were lower so the animals were out and about more. It really is neat to see all the animals especially after watching the Travel Channel show that tells all their secrets. I always look to see if I can see any of the hidden things. After our safaris we waled through the Maharajah Jungle Trek. We didn't do this last year either so it was a pleasant surprise as well. They had some of the neatest animals. The birds were lovely. as long as there aren't any of those creapy crawly things I like animals.

Then we had to go back and see It's tough to be a bug. we all enjoyed this show so much last year and we were right on the front this time. The bug sprayed us good.

We ate lunch at Flame tree and it was as good as everyone said it would be. One thing, we did have to fight the kamakas birds that were dive bombing the area trying to get food. After lunch we walked around a little longer and did a little shopping before finding our spot for the parade. We really enjoy this parade because the "floats" are very bright and colorful and the music is great but it isn't a very long parade either. We watched the parade then headed back to the parking lot to say goodby to Disney. As rough as the week started I must say I was sad to see the week come to an end.

We head back home to do the dreaded packing and getting the car packed and ready to head out very early in the morning. MOre on that a little later. My parents wanted us to all go out and eat dinner especially some sea food this evening. dH wanted to stay in and just snack and get things put together. Looking back I think we all wished we had stayed in. But they convinced him to go out. we chose Crabby Bills and it was really pretty good. We gas up the van and head back to the house. When we get to the house DH gets out like he always does to go and open the door and turn off the alarm. I gather the stuff up that we need to take in and the DGP are getting Megan and her backpack out of the back. Well this time it was a little different. DH drops the keys to the van in the side pocket of the door along with his cell phone. the last thing I do before getting out is to lock the doors. We each have our jobs. I know you can see this coming. The keys are locked in the van. We don't have an extra set either. It is about 8:30. We have to get up aat 3:30 to get ready to leave for the airport. Another DH goof. We were suppose to get the 6:00pm flight but he got in a hurry making the reservations. He called Thrifty to see if they had an extra set of keys. They didn' t know but that they would get back to him. We waited about 45 minutes and then called AAA. We should have done that first. They sent a guy out and he got there about 10:00. Then everyone could breath a sigh of relief. While we were waiting we did get everything packed up and Dh will never live this one down.

We all had a nice time and we will probably go back again but just not next year. DGM would like to do a cruise next and after reading about some of them it might not be a bad thing to try. There is something about disney that does seem to draw you back time and time again. I guess until next time.

Thanks for finishing- I was worried I'd never know the rest!

Enjoyed your trip reports very much! Thanks for taking the time to share.
