Mega MDE problems

Well somehow I kicked my DIL out of her room. Yep there I am with my DS and the 2 grandkids and again in my room with my DH. Really great to some how delete her from our plans. Yikes! Thanks to MS they were able to correct my mistake (don't even know how that happened) and now we are all set. Does anyone know if you can still get additional FP's in the Park?

I can't even begin to tell you how miserable my experience has been with MDE. I made no less than 7 calls, and spent more than two hours on the phone two weeks ago, on the same day, with IT. Thought it was resolved. It's not. I've given up. I got a call back in reply to the scathing email I sent Disney, and heard, like everyone else, they're still in testing. Honestly, I don't care that they're in testing. Don't send out invitations, and make it sound so wonderful, when in reality, it's nothing but frustrating and aggravating. We got our Magic Bands, and we leave for our trip early Friday morning, but I've decided I'm not doing any FP+s. I can't get my husband to show up on my friends and family list no matter how many invitations he's sent, etc, etc.

We have 19 family members going on this vacation. It would be a total nightmare to try to coordinate FP+s, with the way the MDE website is functioning. I'm just happy we were able to book four "together" meals for our entire group, back when dining opened up for us.

My MBs have been shipping "at any moment" for weeks. We are leaving a week from Wednesday. I got worried when I got an e-mail over the weekend, asking me to hurry and customize my bands. (They ARE customized even if I did elect to leave them gray which apparently is not setting the right mood. Honestly, I asked for black, which was my mood after 1 1/2 hrs. on phone) I called MS to tell them that I had customized over a week ago and asked if there was a problem. No problem, but they are "still testing" and e-mail was a glitch.

Now am checking daily for shipment. Kinda don't believe they'll come. Can't link FP+ because we are getting new APs when we arrive. My sense of optimism matches the color of my MBs.

The benefit for us doesn't outweigh the problems and potential problems of rushing to use a new system admittedly still being tested.

Even after the test period is completed there will still be problems for awhile, there always is.

I am on vacation and I will not spend my precious time being a test mouse for anyone, even The Mouse! :goodvibes

That's a good way to put it. I do think, upon further reflection, that it will suit casual visitors who may have arrived late, wandered around only to find FP all gone for space mountain and the line 120 minutes long! Sophisticated users of FP system don't benefit a whole lot. I did like though I booked FP+ on our arrival night for space mountain. We literally got off ME and hubby and son walked to MK from BLT, rode Space Mtn and then were back for dinner. We NEVER could have done that w/o FP+. We also were able to book TSM after a mid morning breakfast. We arrived, rode TSM and basically left (my family does not care for DHS). Perfect. Soooo there is some good. I did NOT like missing reservations (which is a MDE mess IMO), spending time on my phone/app on vacation and having to call disney IT. That was UN magical.

I have a friend working in Tech on this project. Some of the issues are user problems of old browsers that are not working with the program.

So make sure your browser is the most current version and for some reason Google chrome seems to be giving the least number of issues.

Disney websites consistently tell me I am using an outdated browser. My computer is running the latest IE browser and the system gets every update as it is released.

I can wait a year to get FP+, after everything is up and running and fully tweaked and tested.

Some of you talking about how you had things set and then it changed had me running to check my MDE page again! So far so good though. All reservations and tickets seem to be there yet. Of course, next month when I add the tickets for our other two people, that might change.:scared:

At 4:30 yesterday, my MBs were "shipping any moment" (See my earlier post) They just arrived via UPS. While I am happy to finally have them, I can't chalk their arrival up to to Disney magic. Rather it just seems like another example of the flaws in MDE.
Should I bother getting the App? I am not an "App person".

You would be able to modify your FP+ selections using the MDE app. Without the app, you would need to use one of the kiosks to change your FP+ selections.

Get the app. I never once saw a kiosk our whole trip. Granted, I didn't look for them, but I sort of expected them to be maybe over by where some of the FP+ rides we clustered... Oh maybe in TommorrowLand? But never saw one.

Took your advice and got my "First App". Fitting it would be a pretty Mickey icon. It was nice to have all ADRs conveniently listed on my beloved i-Phone. Haven't gotten a chance to play with FP+ because we are buying APs at arrival. So the real TEST will be can we get a FP+ for Soarin on the night before, once I link our APs. Because in the words of the dozen Disney employees that I spoke with( to straighten out MDE clinches)... we are testing

I've only had the occasional minor issue when using the MDX app on either my iPhone or iPad. I've even changed FP+ selections on the fly with only minor issues. If you try to change times while in the park using the MDX app and have issues, there are a number of FP+ kiosks where you can scan your MagicBand and review your selections and make changes if you want to.
