Been an avid podcast watcher and NJ DIS Meet attendee for 2 years now...love you guys! Tomorrow an opportunity came up to meet Marty Sklar at the Ocean County Library in Toms River, NJ and I am completely excited and awestruck. I know you guys have met him before and in all honesty I feel like I'm meeting a celebrity (nerves included, as silly as that sounds). What should I ask him? I have so many questions that I can't even narrow it down! Any advice?

Wow - I don't have any questions, but I just want to say I'm in awe, and I hope you have a wonderful time - that's awesome!!

I just thought of something......I would ask him "What project are you the proudest of having worked on, and what project do you wish you could have worked/be working on?"

You'll find Marty is a very nice guy who is easy to talk to. Don't be awestruck. At a DAP a couple of years ago I asked what he thought was the "worse" attraction ever to have made it to the parks. Figuring that he's gotten the opposite (what's the best) question so many times before, I wanted to ask something different. ;)

Okay - I'll bite - what was his answer? :)

Not that I meet a lot of people of his caliber, but when I do I almost never ask questions about their career. I might ask him what the best vacation he ever took with his family/wife was? Of course, that ties into Disney in the sense that he has had such a big impact on others vacations. But that's just me....

Please ask him if Walt was still with us what do you think disbey would be like today?

Also ask him what do you see being Disney's biggest hurdles in the next coming years.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions and encouragement! He didn't end up calling on me for my question, but the questions he did answer were great. He told a story about a ride concept that didn't make the cut. A ride where you go through a virtual ride through a computer. They ended up scrapping it, but we got space mountain instead so an ok trade-off I think! So glad I went; it was a real treat!

Awesome, and thanx for "sharing" your enthusiasm and experience with us - we really "get it". :)

I was just reading about that project yesterday - apparently they pitched the idea to RCA to be a sponsor and the CEO of RCA sat at the opposite end of the table and couldn't hear them/didn't know who they were. When they pitched them their next idea (which was Space Mountain) they requested he sit closer to them, which he was fine with (apparently he just never had been asked to sit elsewhere) and the rest is history
