Meeting Maleficent

if we have the good fortune to meet Maleficent, does she maintain the animated party line, or will she respond like the live action. My girls (& I) love both, but I suspect my girls would associate with live action more.

For example, if they said, "How's Beastie doing?" or "I always knew you couldn't be THAT evil," etc. will she play along?

Good Luck meeting her..I've visited WDW for the last 20 years and have yet to meet her. I think she's only available for Meet & Greets at certain ticketed parties. I'm assuming since she is the animated version of Maleficent that she follows the original Sleeping Beauty story line. Although, she is my favorite character, IMO she has one of the worst costumes and makeups of any character. I really wish they would change her into the live action version of Maleficent.

She is in animated form, live action form has only made a few very rare appearances. The best time to catch Maleficent around the parks is Aug-Oct though she has made random appearances in Feb-Mar

Now that they've dropped the Villain Mix and Mingle from the Halloween party I think you stand very little chance of meeting her, sorry. Character Palooza at HS is probably the only chance now. Or maybe they'll bring back the special Villain event at CRT on party days. Though my gut says it was a 1 year thing (I hope I'm wrong)

Don't know that she has but potentially any character that appears in Fantasmic! could appear at Character Palooza. So there is a chance, all be it a very small chance.

I'm not sure they'll even bring her out at the training locations if she's not going to be doing any M&G. I'd guess the ones there last year would have been for the new hires meeting at the Villain party at CRT. If they are not doing that they may not have much of a need to hire new ones so it's probably not likely to catch her there (not that it's ever likely to catch any particular character at a training location)

I've only met her during the MNSSHP. She was from the animated movie, but she was a blast to interact with.

We have met her twice near the boat dock at the international gateway in Epcot, this where you can see alot of characters in training as they come out of a gate just beside the little shop there

That's what I thought. At least, KTP's reports from his previous characterpalooza experiences have never documented her.

I'm going the week after Thanksgiving and would LOVE to meet her. My DD (3) LOVES her!! She actually cried during Fantasmic! when Mickey killed the dragon. Wish they had villains available at times other than Halloween.

That's just sad. I wonder if they felt they had to keep her out so it didn't make it so obvious she was only removed the year before for the extra paid event.

We were quite happy to meet her at DL's Halloween party last year though!

I don't know if there's a meet, but she's usually in the boo to you parade.

Come to Paris, she was easy to meet during the day for the past few Halloween seasons.

they did not have club villain last year during the same week so outlook not good. honestly my DD loves all villains. Snow White's evil stepmother, Lucifer, Anastasia, Ursula, etc. If she didn't have such a loving soul I might be concerned Wish they offered Club Villain when we are there.
