Maybe one of the Creative DISers will be lurking...so last night my brain decided it didn't want to shut down when my body was ready for sleep. I came up with what I thought to be a pretty cute idea for a graphic that could be used to identify other DISers at the parks (sad that this is the type of things my brain didn't want to shut down for!) What if we had a LG Mickey with two of his fingers giving the Focker look? We could use it on T's or on signs, etc. It seemed cute in my head.....

YAAAAY puggymom!! Will this be the first trip home?

Technically yes, though I am using points to stay at POFQ in October. Yeah I know not great use of points, but I couldn't get anything for all my nights in any DVC, and this late date I knew there was no chance of waitlisting and didn't want to change resorts when I'm only there for a long weekend. These are carry over points from the seller, so I figure better to use them at POFQ than not go at all. Besides I hear the beignets at the POFQ food court are to die for

Yep I'm official Got my packet in the mail today too!

Quick Itinerary:
I am flying in late on the 4th and driving to Tampa.
Friday the 5th I'm at Busch Gardens and then driving to POFQ late in the day.
Sat the 6th - Epcot, yeah it will be crowded but what can you do I just want to eat my way around the world
Sun the 7th - MGM, lunch at Sci Fi, not sure about dinner yet
Mon the 8th - Segway Tour, DTD for lunch at Earl's, nap and MNSSHP
Tues the 9th - Fly home, 11 am flight

(I am toying with the idea at trying to get an 8:05 ADR at CP for Tues to get me some french toast though)

What are your plans?

Last time I was in Disneyland was back in 1993. I hope to come back out there in a couple years or so with the family as I have a lot of family out in Southern California that I want to visit again...

It's close to Downtown Disney, and yes it is a part of Disney World...we passed it a lot on the buses to POR FQ. I just noticed your dates, we will be there the same time!

Cool! I already put in a request for Flora Focker (the Croc) for those dates. I really hope we can pull this trip together! SO what is the cheapest way to do Disneyworld? Cheapest hotels, dining...The ABA is offering packages but I don't know if it's a good deal or not.

The cheapest resorts are the Value Resorts: All Star Sports. All Star Music, All Star Movies, and Pop Century.

The rates vary as to time of year...you can book a package with tickets, hotel, and add on the Dining Plan if you wish. Or a Magic Your Way package with tickets and hotel and pay out of pocket for meals.

Or you can get tickets separately and book room only. If you book room only, you can't get the dining plan (about $40 per person per day, you get one snack, one counter service meal, and one table service meal). The Food and Wine Festival is going on at that time too and it is FUN! Lots of extra food booths from other countries so we elected to book room only (I am an AP holder anyway so I have my ticket, and we will have to buy another one for my DS who is going with me. Dragging hubby in September and November, and he didn't want to go in October too, if you can imagine that!)

When you book room only you pay one nights lodging charge and the rest on check in. If you book a package you pay $200 down and the balance must be paid by 45 days before your departure.

You can use Magical Express transportation to and from the airport whether you book package or room only, as it is for anyone staying at a Disney Resort, but if you are taking a bike I am guessing you will be driving anyway!

Discount tickets can be gotten from Maple Leaf tickets or Ticket Mania if you book room only. You might want to do some research before you decide...check the prices of tickets there and go to Disney World's site and just play with the booking page to price out various packages.

You may also decide to stay offsite. There are lots of inexpensive hotels close, but you would probably need a car to get to the parks...many have reported the shuttle service from area hotels off-property are sketchy and sometimes charge, and you don't get a choice of when you do.

If you want to talk to a Disney planning expert, try Dreams Unlimited Travel. They can price you all kinds of deals so you can choose, and they don't charge for their services. They will even make meal ADR's for you if you want.

The package you posted looks pretty good, and if I were you I would compare it to other options but it does include event fee? So maybe that's the package for you

You will have a blast planning your trip, however you decide to do it!
