Meet the Fockers! We're watching you...

Oooh, me too! I loved Princess Diana. I woke up at like 3 am to watch her wedding on TV! Sadly, I also woke up that early to watch her funeral services. :sad2:

My mom bought me the coffee table book with all her wedding photos. Oh, my it was so awesome. :cloud9: It struck me odd that she had children as bridesmaids. Jo? Is that a British tradition? :confused3

Princess Diana died when I was on my way to Disney. We stopped in Jacksonville to visit my sis on the way and spent the night. Woke up in the morning to hear about it on the news. We drove to Disney and UK was full of flowers and letters to Diana that people left in the gift shops in England - just sitting on tables among the merchandise and some laying on the ground. We thought it was strange that people were writing letters to her and leaving it in Disney.

The news over here is still full of Diana and it is around about 10 years since she died, now don't get me wrong I liked her but I wish they would just leave it alone especially for William and Harry!

I know this may seem crazy, but I never thought about how just remembering Diana in the media would affect her kids. You're right, it has to be bad for them.

I really wonder if Diana had any idea how much she was loved by world. At least her kids know.:flower3:

OH NO! Did I kill the thread?! I hope not! This thread is usually hopping! Somebody say something PLEEZE!:hourglass

:rotfl2: I think Jo is preparing for her big golf interview, and s'late is SUPPOSED to be working, although I see her little green light on...........so she may just have it minimized cause she's afraid we might say something embarassing or something :confused3
Now, I have to think of something embarassing to say..............:lmao:

Hey Glenda--what's with the SEAL poster? Navy Seals or SEALS, the marine mammal??

No my friend, Seal is the man on the poster. He is a (super FINE) singer. Check out his site. It's "his name" and DOT com. He's been around since about 1991.

:upsidedow Well, that was embarassing, and I wasn't even trying! :lmao:
I DID check out the site though which looks cool although my computer shut the music down for some reason so will have to check back later.
Noticed that he is going to England so Jo should check him out too!:thumbsup2

Well, I'm glad to see that Jo hasn't posted anymore disturbing pictures of toilet paper roll holders! I was afraid to look...

Hey, this brings up a question I've had for years.... do we, as US citizens, curtsy when meeting members of the royal family? And does it make a difference whether we're on US or British soil when said meeting occurs? You know, just in case.

On CBS this morning, they were going over Queen etiquette. They said it is not necessary for Americans to curtsy. You only speak to the Queen if she speaks to you first, and you may shake her hand only if she extends the gloved hand first. BUT no hugging or kissing.

If she doesn't have one of those toilet-roll-in-the-bum dolls, I wouldn't even acknowledge her!

You and me both!!!!:rotfl2:

I might have uncontrollable laughter!

Speaking of uncontrollable laughter, has anyone seen the rabbit foot commercial? Not that you people have time for tv. Anyhow, there is a commercial for an insurance co I think, and they are re-attaching lucky rabbit feet back to the rabbits and the rabbits are in rehab. It is disturbing, but hysterical! :rotfl2:

SEAL is her freebie.

But we can curtsy if we want to curtsy? I think V wanted to curtsy----of course, she's probably curtsying to Cinderella right about now. AH...........:cloud9:

Haven't seen the rabbit one, but I saw the goat one that AFLAC had on last week---I kept rewinding it on my DVR and laughing hysterically. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I hope I taped it--the goats would want to see it!:thumbsup2

SEAL is her freebie.

I do not mind people who feel compelled to dress up their toilet paper rolls HOWEVER those who still feel the need to dress their toasters, mixers and every other appliance along with those cutsy stove covers disturb me. :scared1:

Probably cause they must never have to cook though. :lmao:

Slightly Goofy (who dislikes gossip, bores me to tears and when it is decades old it puts me to sleep)

Do you sleep with your goats, EllieMae?

OMG! I think Aunt EulaMae had the toaster clothes! My grandma would knit outfits for her used wine bottles.....she'd make them into dogs; poodles mostly.

sorul82?, the ones I remember were mostly dolls of some sort and a few animals. Seemed very out of place in a kitchen. I have a very nice cabinet that I keep all my, seldom used, appliances in. Much classier. :rotfl:

BTW, would it not be more likely that UNCLE whomever would be sleeping with the goats? I guess it is better than sleeping with the fishes but I think I will pass on either one.

BTW, word has it that the AFLAC and Geico commercials were thought up by demented Hoosier minds. I love 'em. You can sell me almost anything if you can make me laugh.

Cool--I have a poodle too!

Do you sleep with your goats, EllieMae?

No, their hooves scratched the hardwoods, so they had to go back outside........(Yes, that was an actual conversation I had with the kids last year!)

You really can't house train a goat although a friend I met in SC last year said she taught hers to use a litter box!

I was oh, so impressed! She liked Disney too--she might be on the boards!

Oh no, DH just called and is coming home for lunch.Quick, look busy.........:laundy: :laundy: :laundy:

TEminnie, a long time ago I read a handy hint. It said if you were running behind on fixing a meal just toss a large onion in the oven. Then it at least smells like you have started. :rotfl:

Good luck and if he should catch you not doing anything remind him that he only works 8 hours a day and you probably work a lot more just not all at one time and he caught you on a 'planned break'. :)

I just read an article, I think cnn or msnbc, that said Prince William and his girlfriend broke up b/c her mom is too common. Her mom addressed the Queen with, "Pleased to meet you" but should have said "How do you do" or "Hello ma'am"

I didn't know it was too common to say "pleased to meet you."

Jo - thoughts?
