I have had some blood work done and several areas were listed as hi and flagged. I have been trying to find out if the highs are really bad or okay and what they really mean. I have tried the Mayo clinic site with no results. I was wondering if anyone knew of a site that would give me the info I am looking for. Any help would be appreciated.

You can try www.webmd.com . I don't know whether it'll have what you're looking for, but I've found it helpful for lots of other medical stuff. Good luck, and hope everything is ok.

THanks for the site, it was great. I found out about the cholesterol levels anyway. Will be looking for the other stuff later. I knew someone would have the info I needed.

No not really. What I have to find out is what having a high platelet count as well as a total cholesterol count and and LDL and HdL count means. What I have found out is that a high LDL is bad BUT a high HDL helps counteract the bad. I have had problems in the last 2 years with chest pains ect. but they do the enzyme test and the one is elevated but the other isn't so they tell me everything is fine. Now with this newest test my Dr. has called me back in to her office (Aug. 20th) because of my high readings. I am trying to find out what the balance should be with the LDL and the HDL readings. The other problem seems to be that the measurements are done differently in the U.S. than at my lab here in Canada so it is hard to convert. I just want to be informed when I see the Dr. as I have never had good luck with Dr.s and prefer to at least have some idea of what is going on before I go. I always get a copy of my blood work or any other test so that I can review it before going back. It works better for me. Oh I also have an elevated RDW count as well.
