DD 7 has this awesome habit of getting sick when we travel. We ended up in an emergency room (strep throat) on our first trip to DL which wasted an entire day and cost $$$$$$$. When researching our second trip to DL, I came across a trip report on another website that mentioned a Dial a Doctor service. Luckily I made note of it because DD 7 ended up with an ear infection. Called the dial a doctor service and they were there within an hour and $300 later DD 7 was all fixed up.

Does anyone know of such a thing in the Orlando area? I'd rather pay out of pocket and get reimbursed through my work health spending account then get sent to a hospital from our travel insurance again for something that a nurse practitioner could handle:sick:.

Thanks in advance.

Disney has an arrangement with a group of on-call doctors. Just call the Front Desk of the Resort and they can assist you.

There is also a medical chain called Centra Care which is part of the Florida Hospital System. They have several locations, the two closest to WDW are on SR-535 just outside the Hotel Plaza Blvd Gate, and on on Celebration Blvd just off World Drive. And they do take most insurance. They will also pick you up at your Resort and return you afterwards.

Hope you don't need it, but if you do, consider using Physician Room Service...They offer quality care 24 hours per day, in your room, at a price which is much lower than similar services. PhysicianRoomService.com; 407-238-2000
