Mears transportation

We are going to Disney for 11 days in June and hate taking the busses. Our initial plan was to use Minnie Vans for about 1/2 of our trips and use the busses/monorail for the the other 1/2. However, with the substantial price increase, I just don't think that Minnie Vans are the way to go. I've been researching these forums and have found that we can book Mears transportation for less money. There are several things that I don't understand about Mears and I was hoping that there are some experts on here that can help me out.

When I price out my trips using the website I don't see an option of adding car seats. I have a 7 year old who still needs a booster seat and I want to be sure that there is a way to get one as I have read reports from other guests saying that car seats were available. (Yes, I know that FL law states that he doesn't need one but my home state still requires them and I feel more comfortable having him use one.)

Another question that I have is how far in advance do I need to book this service in order to get the discounted web pricing? The morning routes will be easy to book ahead of time as I know what time we will need to be at the parks. However leaving the park is a different story as we won't know what time we are leaving. Taking the busses back to our resort isn't the end of the world so we can just take a bus back if necessary.

TIA!!!! :disrocks:

I would look into bringing your own booster seat. There are inexpensive inflatable ones (BubbleBum) and also foldables that will fit easily into a backpack and not be a big deal to carry around. BubbleBum weighs 1.2 pounds and Mifold weighs 1.7 pounds, and they both support a child up to 100 pounds.

That strategy opens up all sorts of options with Uber, Lyft, and Mears without having to order a special vehicle.

Also, Uber is developing a partnership with Mears. At first, it's just the re-implementation of Uber Black in the Orlando market, presumably using the Mears limos. However, the partnership will be expanded in the coming months, and by the time you visit you might have a lot more options than are currently available. It's not clear exactly how all of this will work, but riders will pay the same prices whether the vehicle that shows up is an Uber or Mears -- so there might be some nice savings.

I would keep an eye on that development, rather than booking months in advance and locking in what turn out to be high prices.

Thanks for the advice! I did purchase a foldable one that I can use if necessary but I guess I was trying to avoid carrying it. I did read about the Mears/Uber partnership just today after I posted this. It will be interesting to see how all of this plays out.

Thanks again!
