Good morning everyone!
Did anyone get the number of that wall that hit me yesterday? Holy Cow! (bytheway - where has Holy Cow been lately?
)
(Long post warning Pop Daddy)
Hitting the wall was a phrase my regular doctor coined for me because of my tendancy to ...umm... overdo things? As you may or may not know I am suffering from AOSD (Adult Onset Stills Disease) - a very rare autoimmune disease that is best described as a marriage of Lupus and Rhuematoid Arthritis. It has the organ destruction of Lupus and the joint destruction of RA. Only good thing is it doesn't have the disfigurment of RA. A lot of people get it, it goes into remission a year or so later, and only flares up once a decade or something. A few lucky people never see it again. And then there are the fewest people that never get better, and can ultimately die from it. I'm one of those in the last group - I've been suffering with it since 2000.
Anyhow. People in my position have usually quit their jobs and gone on to claim disability and they are in and out of the hospital. I had decided from the beginning that I am not going to be one of them. I still work upwards to 50 hours a week - mostly on my feet, manual labor. My doctors tell me I push myself. I do it because I'm afraid that if I don't that I - quite frankly - will die.
So when I hit this wall - my body basically turns off on me. It sleeps. And it sleeps for a LONG time. Yesterday was almost a 24 hour stretch with waking up only for medicine and Matthew poking his nosey head into the bedroom only to be hit with something when he woke me up. My biggest "wall" I have ever hit was 56 hours straight sleep. (scared the crud out of Matt..lol)
Oh, geesh - enough about me and my problems - AOSD or not I'm still a feisty redhead who doesn't take anything off of anyone
So at this point, don't feel sorry for me, just tell me I asked for it
on to today's poll question (about time, right Pop Daddy?)
I may have asked this before but I can't remember so if I did, humor me
"What is your favorite Nickalodeon Cartoon?"
