How do the meals on board work? 1st time on any cruise for me and DW for her birthday cruise. Looking for info for when we sail on the Dream in Oct. Im used to the meal plans at WDW but how does it work? Do you get so many meals a day? Snacks a day? Do you have to eat at certain times? Can I eat with my elbows on the table? Can I slurp the soup without getting yelled at? :confused3
Thanks for any and all help!!

All your meals are included. You will have an assigned time and table for dinner, and will rotate thru the restaurants (the order will be specified on your KTTW card). The time and table and servers will be the same each night.

Breakfast, lunch, late night goodies, room service, fast food outlets, etc. are all included. It's sort of like the super deluxe dining plan! Soft drinks are included in the dining rooms and at the 24/7 beverage station. If you get a soft drink from a bar or room service, you will be charged. Smoothies, alcohol, specialty coffees, etc. are charged as are boxed snacks/candy outside theaters or from room service . Also popcorn outside theaters is charged (but you can go get a snack from a fast food outlet and take it in!

Now elbows and slurping--you'll have to check with your significant travel mate!

The cruises are different than the parks. There are no meal plans.

All food is included in the cruise fare. So, you may visit any of the standard restaurants or any of the "fast food" locations as many times as you want each day. You may order as much food as you want. Even ice cream and other desserts are included. With a few exceptions, room service is also complimentary.

The food/beverage that aren't included are:
- Dining at Remy and Palo, which are specialty restaurants with a flat per-person surcharge per meal
- Alcohol (pay per drink)
- Non-alcoholic beverages (soda, juice, tea, coffee) that are delivered to you - either at a bar, on the pool deck, or through room service... drinks in the restaurants are included. There is also a 24/7 self-service drink station that is free.
- Smoothies, milkshakes, "drink of the day", and other specialty drinks

Whenever you want, as many times as you want! You can put the hang tag on your door for early morning coffee and whatever, then go for a sit down breakfast an hour later...since we have late dinner, we typically do a mid to late afternoon "healthy snack" of some sort. And there's nothing like a breakfast or snack on your verandah.

DD thought it was really neat to call room service and have them know her name before she told them! HOWEVER, do warn kids when you go to a hotel that room service there is NOT free like it is on the ship.

I think Ive found heaven!! :rotfl2: my wife is so onboard now for this trip. Breakfast on the veranda??? AMAZING!!

Thanks so much for posting this! We are old pros at WDW but I just booked our first cruise on the Dream for April and know nothing about what's included. Good to know about the sodas, will be travelling with two teens!

Just to clarify: room service is available throughout the day. The rotation restaurants and the buffet do have set times for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, so you need to check your Navigator for the specific hours each day. For example, if you want a sitdown meal at 3 pm, that's probably not possible -- but the "fast food" places on the pool deck should be open throughout the afternoon. For breakfast and lunch, you can eat at any open restaurant at any time, with no reservations needed (except for brunch at Palo), and for dinner you can just show up at Topsiders/Beach Blanket Buffet/Cabanas if you don't want to eat in your assigned restaurant.
