Not sure why but I'm really struggling to decide where to eat and what time (doesn't help we don't know the parade times etc for definite but it looks like it might be 7 pm)...

There are so many places we want to fit in but it's just impossible :rotfl:

So, here is a rough plan - what do you think? Will we need to be rolled home? :lmao: Will be need to remortgage? What times will be good for booking lunch & dinner to avoid missing parade etc? Where I've put LATE or EARLY means a possible late night to watch Dreams or not. With two young children it won't be possible to do every night!?

Sorry for all the questions, this planning has really got my head spinning! :rolleyes1

Sunday (arrive teatime ) – snack in park - Fuente del Oro? - LATE
Monday – EMH then late breakfast, Annettes (lunch), Inventions pm - EARLY
Tuesday – Early breakfast in hotel, Cowboy Cookout (lunch), Walts VIP Dreams meal pm - LATE
Wednesday – Early breakfast in hotel, Auberge (lunch), snack? pm - EARLY
Thursday – EMH then late breakfast, Earl of Sandwich (lunch), Blue Lagoon pm - LATE
Friday – EMH then late breakfast, Café Mickey (late lunch), leave late evening for home :sad1:

Oh, and I'd like to fit in the DLH teatime treats - waffles etc at some point too?!? :rolleyes1

Sorry this is so long :flower3:.

I don't know if I'd be bothering with Fuente del Oro now as they have changed the menu and I haven't checked it out :sad2:

Monday seems a lot of food as a late breakfast followed by Annette's which is very filling and then Inventions ? What timing were you thinking of there ?

Tuesday - Walt's will have to be at 19.00 at the latest in you are going for Dreams, leave enough time between CBC and that or you might not enjoy it as CBC seems quiet filling

Wednesday and Thursday and Friday :thumbsup2

Go for the DLH treats on Wednesday instead of a snack as Auberge doesn't look very filling as a meal especially if you aren't eating all of it ;) and it fits in with a special day for your 2 girls - after the Princesses a palace :goodvibes

Will you have time to fit in a late breakfast and a proper lunch and dinner with an early night? If you eat at Annettes at lunchtime you probably won't get your moneys worth from inventions:rotfl2:
Tuesday – Early breakfast in hotel, Cowboy Cookout (lunch), Walts VIP Dreams meal pm - LATE
Wednesday – Early breakfast in hotel, Auberge (lunch), snack? pm - EARLY
Thursday – EMH then late breakfast, Earl of Sandwich (lunch), Blue Lagoon pm - LATE You might be better rearranging these days? On Wednesday you have an early morning following a late night:scared1: I:scared1: think we have decided there will probably be at least one day we miss EMH.
Friday – EMH then late breakfast, Café Mickey (late lunch), leave late evening for home :sad1: a great last meal :goodvibes

Sorry this is so long :flower3:.

I'm not sure what to do about evening meal times with a 7pm parade either:confused3 We would normally eat 6-6.30 but then we will miss the parade but if we wait until after it will really be a bit late for the girls. Might try to do very late lunches instead but not too sure atm.

Hi all just wondered what is the DLH teatime treats? We will be staying there so wondered if you could givve me some info on it? Thank you

Thank you Carrie & Jo :goodvibes.

See, I knew I could depend on you to help me work it out (well, sort of!). It's just a nightmare fitting it all in! I thought I was sorted until DH announced last night that he wants to eat at Blue Lagoon (well, he said, that place where the ride goes past on the beach - so I kind of guessed he meant there :rotfl2:)....!

I think we might give Annettes a miss - I was actually thinking of getting/sharing a takeaway from them and just eating while walking around/sitting outside depending on the weather. So, it wouldn't be a full on meal. I quite fancied squeezing it in but might just get a snack at Earl if we need anything, as we are planning a late breakfast that day!

On Wednesday we will probably miss most of EMH. I meant early breakfast in that we'll have that first, then go into the Park. If it is 9 am or so, it's not the end of the world. Sorry didn't explain that one very well.

Actually, the one good thing about the possibility of late parades is that there is more of a window for a nap in the afternoon (if I get can my two to sleep!) :rolleyes1.

Carrie - why does it have to be 19.00 for Walts for the Dreams meal? Does it state this? Actually, that might work well as we could watch the parade if lucky enough to get a window seat ;):)

Good point about the DLH waffles/tea though after Auberge - I'll note that down, thank you. :cool1:

If we go to CBC for 12 noon then that should give us enough time to be hungry (ish) for dinner at Walts? The portions don't look huge at Walts anyway so hopefully that should be OK.

Think that's it all covered - just need to work out times for all this (apart from the bits I've worked out above!)....

Thanks for your help both of you - it's really made things clearer....

Now, I just need to get someone to pay for it all :rotfl2:

Btw - we also need to fit in Salon Mickey at some point :lmao:.... Cookies/pastries anyone?

The reservations service have been telling everyone that 19h is the lastest reservation time possible for the Dreams meal.

I guess it's because you have to be at the VIP area 30 minutes before the performance and they are counting an hour and a half for your meal :confused3

- Edit ----Of course you are going when it's open later so ignore the above and you can no doubt reserve and eat an hour later if you like.

ps - Just read that someone had a resa for 19.15 when Dreams was showing at 21.30 and they didn't leave Walt's until 21.38 as it took so long :scared1:

Ah I see now - thanks Carrie. Actually, that time does work OK for that night :).

Jeskat - you can get a sort of high tea at Cafe Fantasia at the DLH. They do pastries/cakes and Mickey shaped waffles which look fab :cloud9:. They also do a set high tea menu but it is quite expensive - around 40 euros pp with champagne if I remember correctly. Carrie posted about it a while back. I think we'll just order a few pastries/waffles for the children and I'll have a liquid diet of a glowtini (or two!) ;)....

I was awake in the middle of the night (poorly child ) and ended up googling these Mickey shaped waffles at about 2am ;) They look amazing! Perfect for a light tea if you've already had an enormous lunch. Does anyone know if they only serve teas at certain times?

I'm re-thinking dinner too - but only for one night. We don't normally watch the parade every day.

I love that the park will be open so late. It takes the pressure off during the busiest times of the day. We might go for a swim/relax at the hotel for a couple of hours. Luckily when Lewis was little, he slept like a log anywhere, and was happy to lounge in his buggy. He didn't even wake when we changed him for bedtime, so could enjoy the late evenings. But, I know that not all kids are like that. Abbey only needed to catnap for a split second and then she wouldn't sleep at night. Then she'd be cranky the next day, so we were quite strict with her bed times.

As long as we see dreams on our first night, I'll be happy. Also trying to plan to watch it on the last night too. I do want to use EMH most days if I can. I just love Main St being empty

Anyway, you've all got me thinking too now - off to check our dining arrangements :)

Don't look at me for help lol I'm havin huge probs tryin to work out food naps and parades!

What time in evenin do the characters come out at cafe mickey?? Normally we do lunch for 12 on last day, but we need at later lunch last day (8! Fact what times r characters out total time??? I def want to do Annette's too but wud like to try eos and need to fit in mickey waffles at Dlh lol

Just logged in and I am literally laughing my head off at all the posts on this board today.... Seems like I've started a mass panic/brainstorming session about meals and times etc :rotfl2::laughing:

I'm glad it's not just me who is wondering what I'm doing and when :rotfl:. Seriously though, it's never bothered me in the past but I think because of the new timings/Dreams/necessary naps etc it's hurting my brain. Plus, clearly you have to book so far out if you want a specific time for meals etc which doesn't help.

I'm thinking we won't need that Disboard meet on the 8th Nicky - we'll all be eating in the same restaurants at the same time :rotfl2:. We should have saved on airfares/ferries/eurostar and hired a Disboard coach!!! :lmao:

Serenlas - I laughed out loud at you googling mickey waffles at 2 am - that is the sort of thing I would do.

I think we all have Disney-itis on here you know. It is seriously starting to affect my 'real' life! I can't remember being this bad on previous trips! :rotfl2:

Angel - I would do Annettes on the first night but I think we'll want to stay in the Park once there as we need to get our APs sorted etc. I'm hoping we might see Dreams on the first night as it's likely to be the night where the girls are most awake! :faint:

I really like the sound of Fuente as I've never been there - I know it's just counter service but the food appeals to me :goodvibes.

I'm thinking eat at 7.30 pm most nights now but worried we'll have to miss the end of the parade to do so?! Eating at 6 pm won't work either? :confused3 I know the girls will want to see the Parade each day - I think. Although to be fair, now they don't stop like they used to, I'm not sure it will be so magical??

Nicky - you've got me wondering about Cafe Mickey too as we were probably looking at 2 pm for a late lunch on our last day. We too normally do 12 noon but it will be too early for us that day due to a late departure that night. I have a funny feeling I read they are only out until 3 pm though so that won't work!?

Finally, did someone say Walts is closed on a Tuesday? Urgh, can someone please confirm as I'll have to juggle around again!

****BRAIN ACHE****

lol

yup - i thought 6pm meals, but no way can we b ready for parade at 7pm.... oh, n the fact i thought maybe be in bed at 7pm on first night - that aint gonna happen lol

i really am struggling..... am now thinking maybe decent meal about 2.30pm and maybe nap after :rotfl2: (ha like thatll happen) and then have time to b back at park (now realising downside to being at cheyenne - distance!) then grabbin counter service after the parade.....

its the cafe mickey bit thats causin biggest prob - as was nice to finish on (and weve done it EVERY trip lol) but maybe havin meal at 2pm as wed get an hr of characters??????? not sure where else we cud eat for characters thats cheap......

yes, think i liked the shorter hrs too :lmao: were never happy r we?? lol

yes, Walts is often closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

the times for characters at Cafe Mickey every day are breakfast from 8am to 11am, then for lunch from noon until nearly 3pm, then from just after 6pm until the restaurant closes at 11pm.

elaine - is it very busy in the evenings - like 8pm?? im sure ive read of huge queues n stuff..... wud we see many if we went for 2pm??

we like this as its as cheap or expensive as u want to make it, and always fun, but i know that if we eat at 12, and our flight isnt til 8.30pm kids wont last lol

yes, it can be busy at 8pm, we've had reservations for 7.15 and 8pm before and had to queue for 15 minutes or so outside (even with reservations :)). I like it busy and noisy though.

The characters do their normal half an hour and round the tables, then are replaced by another group of characters. So I guess if you could get to lunch maybe 1.30pm instead of 2pm you'd see at least 2 lots of characters?

for flights home from CDG in the evening we usually have time to grab something from McDonalds there (there is one in both terminal 1 and terminal 2) for tea before getting on the flight.

I'm going for planning my main meals at lunchtime this year, then grabbing counter service/a snack later on the evening in the park.

that sounds a good idea elaine..... and think the main meals at lunch r def gonna b easier to fit in around parade & dreams! i think.... lol

hmmmm 1.30pm...... thats def doable, and least keep kids going a bit longer lol

You could always get something at EoS to take and eat in the airport. Their sandwichs are lovely and stay warm for ages :thumbsup2
