:confused3 Being so new to this, we haven't even purchased yet but are definitely going to. Does anyone know if you can purchase the meal plan as a dvc. I know when you stay at the resorts you can tack that on to your reservations but not sure about dvc?

Currently, no. It can only be added to a room and ticket package. Since DVC rooms are not packages, they are not eligible. AP discounted rooms are not eligible either.

As Debbie pointed out, you can not "tack" on the meal plan to any reservation, it must be a package deal than includes room ressie, park admission, and meal plan. AP holders and room only codes, as well as DVC units on points are not eligible. This is not a change from the silver and gold plans, they also were not able to be added to any room only type ressie or DVC ressie.

One of the reasons I love my DVC is that I have a kitchen so it is easy to make a quick breakfast, lunch or sometimes even dinner before heading out to the parks, or during a mid-day break!!

ITA! And now that DVC members can purchase APs/PAPs at a discount and then get the DDE card for a discount, I have no interest in a meal plan! It would just encourage me to eat more than I should (so as to get my $$ worth).

I know that doesn't work for everyone, so I hope DVC will decide to offer a meal plan for members. Hopefully, the price won't disappoint - I'm not sure DVC will be allowed to offer the same terms as those for the cash room packages.

Best wishes -

I think the Disney Dining Plan is a better package than the DDE. I would like to see this made available to DVC members with annual passes for their length of stay.
