As part of our Universal CC package we get meal deals (2 tickets per person for each of us). Does anyone know what exactly is included in that? When my DH talked to the people on the phone when reserving the package they weren't clear with him at all. It seems that when the ticket is redeemed at a restaurant we get wristbands, but for what exactly? :) Thanks!

I did get some info on it...looks like unlimited self-serve food at certain locations for a day per ticket. Not too shabby.

Anyone know if any of those places have breakfast food?

You can buy a one park meal deal or a two park meal deal. On the days when the park closes early (around 6:00 PM,) the two park meal also include 4 Citywalk restaurants: Bob Marley, Pat O'Briens, Bob Marley, and Pastamore. During busy times, Burger Digs and Monster Cafe are also added to the Meal deal. The meal deal does not include drinks. You can eat as often as you want from 11:00 AM until thirty minutes before the park closes.

When you go to buy the 2 park meal deal on Universals site, it tells you whether Citywalk is included. I add this because we are going next week, the parks are open past 6:00, and we bought tickets that include the Citywalk meal. I think this changes July 1st - no more Citywalk for the summer.

Thanks for all the info! And phamton, thanks for all the details--that helps a lot, especially considering we're vegetarian. It's good to see garden burgers as an option at at least one of the burger places.

We each got 2 of the 2-park passes, which will sure help financially with the way my guys can eat. :teeth: Is it required that the kids eat off of the kid's menu?

Kids with the meal deal ticket (age 3-9) can only choose from the kid's meal.

Hi! Can you get this to go to eat by the pool at the hotel? We're probably staying at RPR and it would be nice to take lunch or dinner back with us. Anyone know? ;)

DD17 is going to be in the parks with her friends as a sort of senior week instead of at the ocean (unlike her brother, she's just not a beach person)
The meal deal sounds terrific but I was wondering about the logistics of it.
When the kids go to the mall they all get food from different places and take it to meet & eat together in the center of the food court.
I thought that I read somewhere that carry-out was not an option with the armbands. I know they are not allowed to share but it doesn't sound like everyone in the group needs to purchase the meal option either for one or two to use it.
I'm wondering how that is enforced. This is just counter service right? Are there designated tables at which they must sit or trash cans at the door?
In short, could DD17 get her meal at one place and meet others in the group somewhere else outside the restraurant to sit and eat if they wanted to or is it more like "all or nothing"?
Is there a way besides the arm bands to tell who is on the meal program, who isn't, and is anyone penalized for it do you think?

Our October trip we had the kids meal deal included in our package. We carried the food out of the restaurants all the time. The kids all had the wrist bands. No one stopped us - just dont take the tray with you when you leave :rolleyes1

The only reason for the wristband is so that the cashier doesn't charge you for your meal. For people who normally eat lunch and dinner every day (or a family with big eaters, ie growing boys), its a great deal - but for someone like me, who eats a breakfast at the hotel and skips lunch, not so much.

If your daughter is only going to eat once a day, I would just pay the meal price. At the Universal parks, the prices of food are quite reasonable. If she will eat 3 times a day or so, then the meal deal is best.

HTH!!

Thanks for your response. It's been quite a while since we were there and I wasn't familar with the program. It's sort of DD's senior week with friends after graduation.
A lot of her classmates are headed for Ocean City, MD today but she's always been less than impressed with the boardwalk and beach, even when she was a little tike. We had to force her to even walk along the sand where the water was to pick up shells, yet her brother was out there surfing in it and loving it. No doubt about it, each of my kids is an individual...

I'll be there with the checkbook and DD6 but don't expect to see much of DD17 and her friends that portion of the trip so, as parents, we've all been discussing how to be sure the girls eat at all. We figured if they know that meals are already paid for they'll be much more likely to stop for them.
DH will be flying down on the tenth day when the friends head home and family time can begin. I think we're all looking forward to it this year.

I guess I can see your point - if its already prepaid, she will be more apt to use it :thumbsup2

Just tell her to order something that is easily portable :lmao: :lmao: if her friends don't want to eat in the same place. However, if you look at the list phamton gave ^^^ up there, there is at least one place in each park that offers a LARGE variety and I am sure the girls can all find something to eat in the same place (US - International Food and IOA - Comic Strip Cafe
)

Have a great time and let us know how your trip went - with pictures of course!!:thumbsup2
