Flew non-stop on Sun Country yesterday (MSP - MCO). Flight was packed, but all went well. Due to a re-route (probably to fly around some weather), we arrived at the gate about 10 minutes late (12:10 pm).

Arrived at the BW check in desk at 1:30 pm. We stopped at the Beach Club before the Boardwalk. Driver said they were continuing on to Riverside after that.

ME Bus was full. There were a lot more people in the ME area than I was expecting, but it still only took about an hour and one half to get to the resort.

There were CMs waiting at the Boardwalk entrance to escort us in to the check in area & introduce us to the front desk agent - they knew our names, which was a nice touch. :) Our CM did guess wrong the first time, though. He said he had a 50-50 chance, LOL.

Room was ready. We dropped off our carry on bags and left to get something to eat & pick up our APs. Then we went over to the American Adventure to listen to the Voices of Liberty. Returned to the room about 4:30 pm and our checked bags were waiting for us.

Another good experience on Disney's Magical Express for us. :)

Wish I was there now (although I will be in <2 months!). Have fun, Carol!

So far I have nothing but good things to say for DME.

Our last trip we arrived at MCO right on time (I think it was 3:40pm) and we were standing at the resort check in counter in under 1 hour. Now, we were the first stop which has never happened to me before but it was still really fast considering we did have to wait for about 5-10 minutes in line for the bus. I think our bags arrived about an hour after that.

The trip before...the bags were brought to our room about 15 minutes after we arrived in the room. LOL...we were very puzzled as to why someone was knocking on our door.

When I returned from my WDW last month, I got to do a survey. One of the questions on it was 'were you welcomed by name upon arrival at your resort?'. I was honestly surprised by that question. I mean, that was nothing that had ever happened to me prior to arriving at the front desk and having them pull up my info. Now, we did arrive in a rental car, so that's probably why we weren't welcomed by name!!! But, in a week or so, we arrive at BLT, via DME....so, we'll see what happens then.
Thanks for the review!!!

I've arrived by DME many times and never been greeted by name. Really, how could they do that anyway? If you were the only family to get off the bus then sure but how often does that happen?

JEALOUS!!! Just because I know you are wondering - it's all of 27* here right now. We went out to the airport yesterday...watched the planes take off from Post Road. Was wishing we were on a flight headed south :)

Enjoy your week!

They could narrow it down by looking at how many people are in your party. Also using first names to guess the sex of each so that a family with two daughters can be differentiated from one with two sons.

All I know is what the survey asked me...'were you welcomed, by name, upon arrival at your resort?'...so, one would assume they are trying to do something different. How they do it is anyone's guess.

When DH and I arrived at BW on November 5 via ME, we were met by a cast member and greeted by name - although it was the wrong one! He too said he had a 50-50 chance of being correct. He had a clipboard with a list on it, so we assume he had information from ME regarding who was expected to arrive at what time. Might even have information from the airport about when we checked in at the ME desk, so he could guess which bus we'd be on.

We gathered it was a new process - and we did appreciate it! He took us directly to the check-in desk and told them who we were, and it made check-in definitely quicker because we'd probably have stood in line at the Online Check-In Desk instead of going to the regular one!

On our last trip in Sept, we were welcomed by name at the AKV's Kidani Village while using our rental car.

The security guard at the gate radioed ahead to the attendants at the drop of area our names and make/colour of our car while I was putting my ID back into my wallet.

It was a nice touch, would have been magical if I didn't overhear the guard.;)

I was also greated by name at SSR in October after my sister picked us up at the airport and dropped me off so I could check in.

I'm sure in that case the CM at the guard shack (who asked to see your ID before raising the gate) called ahead to alert them of your arrival. Not really magic... :wizard:
