ME Luggage Tags? - UPDATE 4/20 - NEW UPDATE 4/26

I called Magical Express and I was told the packages would be sent by Express Mail not FedEx-I'm starting to get nervous about this-I'm leaving on the 6th!
 
I wanted to update everyone on what I've heard since my post last Friday. After calling the Magical Express number 4 times yesterday to try and straighten out the P.O. Box issue that I thought was keeping my tags from getting to me, they assured me that they are coming by express mail. All the different CMs that I talked to yesterday on the separate ME number told me that it is not coming FedEx because it is being shipped express mail. I did call CRO yesterday after talking to 2 of the ME CMs, and they were giving out the information a lot of you have been hearing that the luggage tags had already been shipped out by FedEx on Friday. Once I got off the phone from talking with CRO, I called back the ME number where they apologized to me for the CRO CMs lying to me about the FedEx shipping. They told me that they don't know why they are telling people this because it isn't true. They said that the company that is handling the tags is in New York, and from there they will be sent out using express mail. So, I guess there must be a lack of communication somewhere in the Disney chain that people seem to be getting different information. I also wanted to say that the CM at the ME number told me that if I don't have the luggage tags by this Friday I should call them, and they will do everything to make sure we get them before we leave.
 
I called the ME number this morning and after verifying my information, the CM told me that they have been having some delays with getting the tags out in a timely manner.

He also said that tags for guests arriving between May 5th - 17th are being sent out either by Express Mail or Fed Ex. He said if I do not receive my tags by Friday, call them back and they will get them out to me ASAP.

Well, let's hope that this CM has his information correct - we leave on May 7th!!

At least one person (sammax in message #47 in this thread) did get ME tags via Fed Ex, so maybe they are sending some of them via Fed Ex and some via Express Mail, depending upon departure dates. Sammax is leaving on May 6, for example.
 

Yeah, I don't really have a clue who they are actually using to send out the ME stuff since all I know is what the CMs have been telling me on the phone. I mainly wanted to tell everyone who is desperately waiting for their ME luggage tags that they might not actually be coming by FedEx. Since I am like a lot of other people on here in that same situation, I don't really care how they get here as long as I get them and have them in my hands before I leave.

On another note, sammax are you sure the package that you received from FedEx has the barcoded luggage tags for ME? There has been some people who posted last week that said they received their ME luggage tags when they had actually only received the Tinkerbell luggage tags (and other kinds) from booking a package through WDTC. If you really did get them, sorry for bugging you!

FWIW, CRO this morning CRO told me that they FedEx'd the tags on Friday. Well, Hmmmmm --- it's now Tuesday and I thought that FedEx was a NEXT day thing. I guess that confirms the story that some of the CM's were misinformed. (I have a hard time thinking that they'd outright lie -- why would they?)

Fed Ex offers several delivery options, not just overnight service. In addition to overnight delivery, they offer 1-business day, 2-business days, etc. And since we're talking business days (not elapsed time) if they sent it out late on Friday with 2-business day delivery, then you should get it today. If they sent it "1-5 business days" then that depends on distance, so the farther away you are from wherever these things go out, the longer it will take to get to you -- could be as late as Friday.

And I assume they are only using Fed Ex for folks who are leaving for WDW within the first few days of ME's operation.

CRO gave me that number yesterday when I called to see whether my tags had been mailed yet (departing May 8). ME in turn said that the tags have already been mailed, and acknowledged they are behind in the printing. They did not say whether they were sent standard mail or express mail, but the fact it's coming to a PO box won't be an issue. The ME person said to expect them sometime this week. If not, you can bet I'll be buggin' them again!
 
We leave on May 5th. I just spoke with a CM from DME. He said there was a delay in printing, apologized for the package not getting here yet and said that it has been mailed from New York. He told me that if it doesn't come before we leave that I would be able to find the DME CMs at the airport, go to their Welcome Center, give them my name and my baggage tags and they would be able to print me out a book right there. The CMs would then take my baggage tags and go retrieve my luggage and put it on the truck. He also said that the package was sent by regular mail and confirmed my address. I'm thinking that I may just pack in a smaller bag and take it as a carry-on!
 
My ME luggage tags and booklet came today hooray hooray!!!! Mine were shipped FedEx Express Standard Overnight, the label says it shipped 4/25/05, deliver by Tuesday 4april05. We are leaving the 5th so this is a big relief that they actually got here.
 
I got my ME tickets today too. They came Fed Ex and I also got new Celebration tags for the bags like the Tinkerbell ones. They also sent 8 ME tickets. :cool1:

Looks like some other folks are finally starting the get theirs too!!!

I just called ME again and this time was told some of the pkg's were sent FedEx and some were sent Express Mail! He said they did not mail them out themselves so there was no way of checking on how or if mine was mailed yet! He told me it did not matter if I got the luggage tags, if they don't come in time I have to talk to a ME CM at the check in describe the bags and they would them! :confused3
 
Can anyone who received theirs tell me how many bags they got tags for and how many people are travelling? It would also help me to know if any of the people traveling are under 3.

I didn't recieve mine yet but if they are comming out of New York, it may be two more days. It looks like the folks who are getting thiers today are much closer to NY than me here in Mississippi. I'll give it till Thursday before I call.

Clients traveling within 21 days that do not have their documents yet will be receiving them shortly via express service. joannelee217, I was told to expect 2 tags per person registered for ME. If more are needed, call them at 866-599-0951, it is a toll free call and it took them FOREVER to answer.

Bowen9475, I think I spoke with the same person as you did, as I heard the EXACT same info. We need them for a May 7 arrival and were told that they are being sent "regular mail" and should arrive in time. {{sigh}} I hope so.

I was told that the castmembers who work at the airport would be waving big Mickey hands in the air for us to recognize them and as Bowen9475 mentioned, bring our luggage claim checks to them and they would retrieve our luggage. I think if the ME tags don't arrive in time, I'll put our resort destination on our standard ID tags to ensure that they don't get sent back home.

This gent at DME seemed to be quite confident that the tags would arrive in time. He had a lot more confidence in the DME system than I do. Time will tell.

No tags here in South Dakota yet, and expecting 'snail mail' :hourglass now.

I got 2 tickets per person including my 2 for my ds who is only one. So we got 8 tickets for the 4 of us.
