Hi, I'm reading a lot of varying reports on how long it should take luggage to get to your room, and they all vary based on the time of your flight, the resort, etc.

So, how long did you wait, what time did you arrive and where did you stay?

We're going to the CBR in November, landing at MCO on a Wednesday at 8:05 PM. Will my luggage get to my room by 11:00 PM? I don't really want to claim it and drag it across the airport to the ME check-in desk (we're flying SW). I will pack some essential items in a carry-on, but I don't want my bags being delivered to my room while I'm asleep.

Thoughts?

thanks!

I know with all the new rules you can't take alot of stuff in your carry on. One thing that might work is not putting a tag on 1 small bag & going to get that one a bagging claim. Because I thought it was about 3 hrs to get your luggage.

I've used Magical Express 3 times. I am not going to count the first time though because our bags were lost (long story, not Disney's fault). The second time we had our bags in 3 hours (Animal Kingdom Lodge), and the third time we had our bags in 1 hour (Port Orleans Riverside). We were very impressed with ME all 3 times and will be using it again in October.

I was at WDW last week-end. Flew SW and landed at 10PM. Was in the resort before 11PM after DME bus went to CBR and then to BWV. Driver said that if luggage arrives after 11PM, they generally hold it until the next morning but leave you a voice mail saying it's there and if you want it, just call the desk and they will bring it to your room. Anyway....the voice mail was there by the time we returned from a quick snack at the Boardwalk.

When I made my ME reservation last week they told me it is usually less than 3 hours but with all the security it can take as long as 5 hours.

First trip using DME was in May '05....we were at BCV checking in within 70 minutes of arriving at the airport. This was at about 1:00, our room was ready at 3:30, and our bags arrived in the room at 3:45.3rd stop
In Dec, we arrived at POP about 65 minutes after landing, had only carryon, so no luggage to time. 1st stop.
May '06...arrived at POP about 85 mins after landing...we were the last stop, of 3. Got into my room immediatly at around 1:30ish...bags were there when I returned later that evening....no idea how long it took since I was at the parks all day.

i've always arrived mid-afternoon & have always had great experiences with Magical Express. the first time we used it there were 6 of us on the trip. luggage took about 2-3 hours (came while we were out to dinner so not sure exactly what time it arrived). next trip it was about 1 hour (i was by myself on this trip). next trip there were 5 of us & the luggage got to the room about 5 minutes after we did. :cheer2:

We're arriving at MCO around 9:30 p.m. or so. Here's our plan:

1) ship toiletries to resort in advance

2) pack our carry-ons (two parents, two kids, 6 and 4) with bedclothes, change of clothes for next day including swim needs)

3) put DME tags on all our checked bags

4) once at our resort, ask front desk to have DME luggage held 'til morning

5) also ask Bell Services to hold DME luggage 'til morning

6) put Do Not Disturb sign on resort room door

That actually sounds like a decent plan, as we're also traveling with two young children (5, turning 6 during our trip!) and 3.5. So how far in advance would you ship your toiletries? I guess they would give you your package when you check in?

Thanks for the replies. It's sounding like I shouldn't count on having my bags to my room before midnight if we don't land until 8:00 pm.

Also, how far would we need to drag our luggage if we opted to claim it ourselves? We're flying SW.

Thanks again!
