Got my ME info yesterday. Enclosed was 1 luggage tag per person and we have 2 bags each. I called this AM and said Im missing the 2nd tags for my entire party. Was told that only 1 is being sent now. Hugh??:confused3

I was told the solution was to give the CM @ ME counter my "claim check" for the other bag (Guess I need to know which claim check it is) and they will see that it gets delivered or I can P/U the 2nd bag myself and take it to the bus...???

I don't have a warm fuzzy about my 2nd bag...being seperated from the 1st, not that they are together on the flight,..and ...going round & round on a carousel in the baggage claim area till someone picks it up.:headache:

So...what are you all doing?? Anyone have any delivery problems with this?? I was thinking about scanning/copying the tag I have and attaching it to the 2nd bag...HELP??

This is SOP now - it saves them a little money and so many people aren't checking more than 1 bag per person these days. They'll typically send more if you ask, but doing the claim check thing works just fine. They have always used this method for people who didn't get their tags in time, forgot them, didn't have enough, didn't decide to use ME until the last minute.

Attaching a copy of the tag is not a bag idea - it's a visual flag for the people who pull the bags, but giving them the claim number will help them when they scan bags to route them to the right hotel. You shouldn't have any problems with this.

If you are still nervous, there's a lengthy info sticky thread on the Transportation board about ME.

This is Disney's way of getting Guests to only bring one bag each. Disney has to pay their vendor for each bag delivered so this simple policy change can save them money without the Guests even thinking twice about it.

DH and I always bring 3 bags between the 2 of us. The day before we were leaving on our last trip we noticed only 2 ME tags so I called and they instructed me to just check in at the desk with my claim ticket. We did this and it worked fine. A friend who was travelling this summer called ME a month or so before her trip and requested more tags and they would not send them and instructed her to give claim check and assured her the luggage would get there. This trip I called MS and explained that I while I understand wanting to be "green" I would rather a few more luggage tags than a million confirmation letters everytime I change a reservation! He laughed and said no problem and we ended up with 2 extras. If you want more tags call member services instead of magical express.

Last tags I recieved you could cut them lengthwise to make 2 out of one.

When we realized that we could check two bags for free (with our business class upgrade), I called our TA who called DME and requested additional tags. We had them within a week. Now that I've packed, I don't think I will even have 2 bags to check:lmao:.

You can call or email member services and they will send another set.

Don't deface the bar codes. Each tag needs a bar code to match the bag to the owner.

Bar codes can be cut lengthwise and will not loss their information. You can not cut them up n down or then you will lose all info.

We only received one tag each and are taking two bags each so I called Disney and they told me to call DME directly. The number they gave me for DME was 1-866-599-0951
I gave them my info and I had my extra tags in about a week.

If I cut the tags they sent me, all my info would be half gone - there is no way to cut the tags that I can see.:confused3
