Which reservation number do we need in the uk to make plans on MDE? And how soon before a trip are you able to set up your account with a value reservation number? Thx

the hotel category is irrelevant as far as linking your ressie goes (except for OKW and SSR)

You can try to link your ressie using your 6 digits UK number and your last name
if your ressie is more than 10 months out, it might not work, if it doesn't work you can call to get an alternate 8 digits number.

I might be a bit early then - we are travelling end of March next year. I'll wait a week or 2 and then give it a whirl. Thx

I emailed wdw they say that reservations are linked 200 days in mde from departure date

Ever since the launch of online ADR's in late 2009, there have been issues with the different reference numbers on the UK system and getting a US site compatible number. Every year, throughout, different CM's and travel agents give widely varying answers and different guests have equally widely varying experiences with getting this number. A lot of the time it boils down to who you speak to.

Even now, some people are being told 200 days out and others are being told that it's 72 hours or so from booking. My guess is that the numbers are available within 72 hours or thereabouts of booking but not all CM's know that they can access it or how.

The good news is there is nothing you can do on your MDE account until 180 days out in any event so sitting it out for a while won't be prejudicial in any way. :goodvibes

So do you think that our uk reference number will work then or we'll have to ring anyway?

Just so I know when I get the right reference number - is it a set number of digits and does it always start with a certain mumber? Thx

If you book with WDTC (UK) you get a 6 digit confirmation number - 123456

Then there is another number, which you can use for ADRs, MDE etc (but currently not to make a FP for BoG) and mine have always been 3 letters followed by 5 numbers - ABC12345

Then there is the "US reservation number" which is 12 digits, no letters. (This one you need for BoG FP at the moment; not sure if that will change in time).

As long as you get the alphanumeric number it will be sufficient to do what you need to for now, and possibly for everything else too. I am under the impression from posts on here that some have had the inital 6 digit reservation number work. I have never tried it that way so I don't know if I am following correctly. Perhaps someone who has experienced success with this could comment.

I think the lady on the phone thought I was slightly strange when I asked for my 12 digit number for August next year:rotfl2: she just about hid the surprise and amusement in her voice!
She did say that the standard advice they are being given is 200 days before your holiday but I quoted the DIS and that other people had been told earlier. She seemed a bit more helpful after this and suggested I try again in a couple of weeks but was still dubious.
I know it's ages away but I NEED to do something with planning-it's going to be a loooong time coming round this time so it's plan or go a bit nutty:rotfl2:

I booked for October 2015, so I can feel your pain :p

but, anyway, there is nothing more we can do on MDE before 180 days out.
It's still possible to toy around with MDE without a booking linked.
less fun, but, well ...

hope they go by their FAQ and OKW will be in the system 10 months out instead of 200 days, or I might just start eating my keyboard (I'm already out of nails ... :) )

See, this is why I think it's just the luck of the draw if you end up speaking to someone who knows how to get it for you. My trip is end of June next year and I was given my 12 digit and alpha numeric number last weekend. It's more like 400 days out than 200 until that trip so it's a mystery.

Think I'll feel a bit better once I've got the flights booked but until then I shall be obsessively living on the Dis forum page getting my fix :rotfl: :surfweb:
My obsession is not helped by the fact that in the year 2014 we know 10 families going/have been to Florida including our best friends that flew today

Well I shall look forward to calling every couple of weeks until I get a CM that knows what they're doing-as long as I don't get stuck in their loop again for 20 mins! ;)
I'm not really desperate (!) and know I can't do much with it at the moment but not much else I can do with the planning at this stage so need to do something to get my Disney fix :lmao:
