MDE App Upgrade Will Disable App On Some Andriod Devices?

I got a pop-up when I opened MDE on my phone this morning saying I will need Andriod 5.0 after I think it said Sept 29. I have a Motorolla Droid Maxx which has no plans to upgrade to 5.0 from 4.4.4 so I guess the MDE app will no longer function for our trip? It did say to use the website but I find it odd they would upgrade the app that disables it on so many other devices.

Yep. It no longer works on my galaxy S4. I use the website. Works better than the app anyway.

Yeah, my most recent phone had a manufacturing issue so I had to send that one in and reactivated my old galaxy 4, which I could not use the app on anymore. I did update my android and that fixed it.

I've been putting off getting a new phone, but I guess I either need to get one, or bring my work phone on my upcoming trip. Neither option appeals, TBH.

Honestly, I find the website functions better than the app anyway. Most of the time I open it and skip the app all together. If I needed a new phone, I'd get one but if I like what I have I sure wouldn't get a new one just because MDE doesn't work

Agreed that using a browser to get to the website always works better for me even though I have the app. @luvpooh, if you haven't tried just through Safari (or whatever your phone browser happens to be) maybe give that a try and see how it works. You may be pleasantly surprised!

I've been ha ING issues on my LG android for a few
weeks now. I couldn't log in. So last night I uninstalled the app then went back in a installed. It works great.. Hopefully come the 29th I wont have more issues

I had this issue with the Disneyland app on my old phone. I just got a new(er) one and can run that app again. There comes a point where older versions of Android will not be supported. Anything over 5 should be pretty safe for a while though.

So far the app is working great on my Galaxy S4. My laptop on the other hand, is a different story.

My old Android 4.1 phone was int hat boat, and it was having problems anyway. I upgraded to a phone that's actually a couple of years old, bought factory refurbished. It's on Android 5.1, so it's not the latest and greatest, but it works much better and didn't cost a fortune (about $120).
